Miniaturization of an artificial magnetic conductor with interdigital capacitances

2015 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference (LAPC), 2015
This paper deals with a method to miniaturize an artificial magnetic conductor using interdigital capacitances. An artificial magnetic conductor with a resonance frequency of 2.66 GHz is designed and manufactured. The size of a unit cell is 15 x 15 mm(2) or 0.13 x 0.13 lambda(0).

Artificial Magnetic Conductor Loaded Monopole Antenna

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2010
In this letter, the use of artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) to load a monopole antenna has been investigated. It is known that the current reversal, which occurs at frequencies much beyond the antenna natural frequency, disturbs the omnidirectional radiation pattern of the monopole antenna.

A Monostatic and Bistatic RCS Reduction Using Artificial Magnetic Conductor Metasurface

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2023
This communication shows how to reduce the radar cross section (RCS) by employing two artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) metasurface unit cells. The two AMCs cells are arranged in chessboard configuration to decrease both monostatic and also bistatic ...

High-Gain Fabry–Perot Cavity Antenna With an Artificial Magnetic Conductor Side Wall

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2023
We propose a novel design method for a Fabry–Perot (FP) cavity antenna with an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) side wall intended to provide a high gain in the tilted target direction.

Design of Microstrip Patch Antenna Using Artificial Magnetic Conductor for 5G Base Station

2023 International Conference on Intelligent Technologies for Sustainable Electric and Communications Systems (iTech SECOM), 2023
This paper discusses a method for utilizing frequency selective surface to increase the performance of microstrip patch antennas. This method increases the antenna's gain by using artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) as the ground plane.

A Low-Profile Ultrawideband Slotted Dipole Antenna Based on Artificial Magnetic Conductor

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2022
A low-profile linearly polarized antenna based on artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) is proposed. Triangle cuttings and Π-shaped slots are introduced on a traditional double-sided printed rectangular dipole antenna to realize ultrawideband ...

Miniaturization of artificial magnetic conductors

2010 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2010
In this paper, we introduce a novel multilayer artificial magnetic conductor providing a λ/60 unit cell periodicity while maintaining a 10% bandwidth. Full-wave simulations are mainly driven to give a proof of concept of this miniaturization method. Experimental validation of simple cases leads to a very good agreement with both numerical results and ...

Loading artificial magnetic conductor and artificial magnetic conductor absorber with negative impedance convertor elements

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2012
AbstractThe general properties of a frequency selective surface loaded with negative impedance converter (NIC)‐based active loads are discussed from a theoretical perspective. The stability problem associated with NIC circuits embedded in artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) and AMC absorber applications is studied using pole‐zero analysis.

Ultra-Thin Artificial Magnetic Conductor for Gain Enhancement of Antenna-on-Chip

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2022
System-on-chip (SoC) has become an attractive solution to achieve highly integrated wireless systems. However, the antenna-on-chip (AoC) suffers from poor radiation due to the lossy silicon substrate in standard complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor ...
