Artificial weathering of stone by heating

Journal of Cultural Heritage, 2013
Abstract Since the effectiveness of stone consolidants significantly depends on the weathering level of the stone samples on which they are tested, in this study the suitability of heating stone to high temperature, as an artificial weathering method to induce controllable microstructural, physical and mechanical alterations, was investigated.

Artificial Weathering

1972
Artificial weathering is the exposure of materials to laboratory controlled conditions of light, heat, and moisture. The purpose is to accelerate deterioration by radiation that is more intense than the natural radiation of the sun, and also by applying this radiation over periods longer than those normally received from the sun, especially during ...

Weathering indicator for artificial and natural weathering of wood coatings

European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2014
The aim of the present study was to find and develop a sensor to evaluate the weathering rates of wood coatings during natural and artificial weathering using a material of known and controlled rate of decomposition. This was achieved by the use of a coating based on poly (vinyl acetate) copolymer binder in combination with Fe2+ as redox catalyst.

Artificial and natural weathering of ABS

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2010
AbstractAcrylonitrile‐butadiene‐styrene (ABS) is a complex copolymer with exceptional importance in technological applications. However, ABS is known to present a high susceptibility to weathering when exposed to UV radiation in the presence of oxygen. In this work, photodegradation of ABS was studied under natural and accelerated conditions.

Weather Monitoring Using Artificial Intelligence

2016 2nd International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Networks (CINE), 2016
Weather forecasting is rather a statistical measure than a binary decision. We intend to develop an intelligent weather predicting module since this has become a necessary tool. This tool considers measures such as maximum temperature, minimum temperature and rainfall for a sampled period of days and are analyzed. An intelligent prediction based on the
