Weather Forecasting Using Artificial Neural Network
2019Weather forecasting is a blessing of modern technology. It enables us to understand the nature of the atmosphere. Precise weather forecasting is one of the greatest challenges in the modern world. Unlike traditional methods, modern weather forecasting involves a combination of computer models, observation (by use of balloons and satellites) and ...

Natural and artificial weathering of polyethylene plastics
Polymer Engineering & Science, 1969AbstractEmpirical test data on low‐density polyethylenes exposed to the elements for very long times are compared with results on samples of the same materials subjected to artificial “weathering” in a modified carbon arc machine. The test results conform to the expression where ta is hours of accelerated weathering, tn years of natural exposure, and

Natural and artificial weathering of polymers
Polymer Degradation and Stability, 1989Abstract Weathering parameters, methods of measurement and the principles of accelerated testing are described and discussed. The main factors which influence weathering, including solar radiation, heat, humidity, oxygen and industrial pollution, are considered in detail.

Artificial neural networks in weather forecasting
[Proceedings] 1992 RNNS/IEEE Symposium on Neuroinformatics and Neurocomputers, 1992A method of statistical weather forecasting using databases of meteorological information is presented. The authors propose a special technique for constructing the learning set of images which represent the actual data. Forecasting of forthcoming weather events is based on the recognition of known data images using artificial neural networks and ...

Oedometric Tests on Artificially Weathered Carbonatic Soft Rocks
Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, 2004Carbonatic rocks are subject to progressive degradation of their mechanical characteristics due to weathering. This phenomenon may have relevance for engineering since it can induce settlement of foundations, progressive failure of slopes or an increase of pressure on tunnel liners.

Natural and artificial weathering effects on cold‐cured epoxy resins
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2010AbstractThree cold‐cured epoxy resins, specifically designed as structural adhesives for rehabilitation or renewal applications of civil infrastructures and cultural heritage, were submitted to natural and artificial weathering. We evaluated the variations in the thermal and mechanical properties and color changes after an artificial treatment carried ...

A Weather Forecast System Based on Artificial Immune System
2005Inspired by the learning mechanism of the biological immune system, the paper presents a method for weather forecast. Expressions of antigen and B-cell are defined. An immune-based supervised learning algorithm is described in detail. A weather forecast system based on immune theory has thus been presented.

Severe Weather Forecasts from Artificial Intelligence Weather Prediction Models
Artificial Intelligence for the Earth SystemsAbstract Using recent observations of severe weather events, random forest (RF) machine learning models are trained to predict severe weather at 1–8-day lead times mimicking operational convective outlooks produced at the NOAA Storm Prediction Center.

Weathering of treatments for bronze conservation - Results of natural and artificial weathering
