Prenylated Dihydrochalcones from Artocarpus altilis as Antiausterity Agents

2015
Human pancreatic cancer cell lines have remarkable tolerance to nutrition starvation, which enables them to survive under a tumor microenvironment. A novel antiausterity strategy in anticancer drug discovery led to the discovery of agents that preferentially inhibit the survival of cancer cells under low nutrient conditions. Artocarpus altilis (Family:

Antioxidant activity of Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson) Fosberg leaves

Free Radicals and Antioxidants, 2014
Objective: This research was aimed to investigate the antioxidant activity of Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson) Fosberg leaves. Materials and Methods: 2,2 diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay and thiobarbituric acid (TBA) methods were used to determine the antioxidant activity with ascorbic acid as a reference. Results: Total phenolic

Purification and characterization of ACC oxidase from Artocarpus altilis

Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, 2002
1-Aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) oxidase was purified to homogeneity from breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) by a six-step chromatography procedure to yield an 87-fold increase in purification with a recovery of 9.5%. SDS-PAGE revealed that the purified enzyme had a molecular mass of 42.3 kDa and a Km of 28.2 μM.

Flavour chemistry in breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis Parkinson (Fosberg)) and its hybrids (Artocarpus altilis × Artocarpus mariannensis)

Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis Parkinson (Fosberg)) and its hybrids (Artocarpus altilis × Artocarpus mariannensis) are underutilized despite their significant potential. One barrier to broader acceptance may be the intense flavour present in some varieties, which has been described as “green tea-like” and is considered unpalatable by some individuals ...

PROXIMATE AND PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF BREADNUT (ARTOCARPUS CAMANSI) AND BREADFRUIT (ARTOCARPUS ALTILIS) LEAVES

Nigerian Journal of Animal Production
Fresh breadnut (Artocarpus camansi) and breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) leaves were harvested from a reliable source at Abede area within Ogbomoso metropolis, Oyo State, Nigeria. The leaves were washed to remove debris, the leaves were air dried to retain the nutrient composition of the plant without any of the phytochemical properties been denatured ...
