Combined Analysis of Transcriptome and Metabolome Explains the Differences in Pulp Color in Jackfruit

open access: yesPlant Direct, Volume 10, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT The pulp color of jackfruit reflects variations in its nutritional composition and influences market preference. We investigated the mechanism underlying pulp coloration through an integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis of three jackfruit cultivars—light yellow “THA”, yellow “GTM”, and orange “YNH”.

New phenolic compounds from the twigs of Artocarpus heterophyllus

open access: yesDrug Discoveries & Therapeutics, 2013
Two new chalcones, artocarpusins A and B (1 and 2), one new flavone, artocarpusin C (3), one new 2-arylbenzofuran derivative, artocarstilene A (4), and 15 flavonoids were isolated from the twigs of Artocarpus heterophyllus. Their structures were established on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis.

Communities with diverse subsistence needs require a variety of functional tree traits

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
Malagasy forest users vary the traits that they prefer for different household uses. Accessibility is prioritized for daily uses such as fuelwood, while functional traits are valued for longer‐term uses. Differences between men and women reflect traditional gender roles.

Comparative Plastome Analysis of Artocarpus Species in China: Insight Into Adaptive Evolution and Mutational Hotspot Regions

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
The initial comparative plastome analysis of 10 Artocarpus species in China lays the groundwork for regional evolutionary research. Investigated of inverted repeat (lR) boundary variations, particularly the incomplete duplication of the ycf1 gene, elucidating mechanisms underlying genomic divergence.
