Improved Pose Estimation of Aruco Tags Using a Novel 3D Placement Strategy [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2020
This paper extends the topic of monocular pose estimation of an object using Aruco tags imaged by RGB cameras. The accuracy of the Open CV Camera calibration and Aruco pose estimation pipelines is tested in detail by performing standardized tests with ...

ArUcoE: Enhanced ArUco Marker

open access: yes2021 21st International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems (ICCAS), 2021
This paper presents a novel fiducial marker type called ArUcoE. It is obtained from a standard ArUco marker by enhancing it with a chessboard-like pattern. With our approach the pose estimation accuracy of any ArUco marker can easily be increased. Further methods to increase the accuracy are analyzed.

An Underwater Visual Navigation Method Based on Multiple ArUco Markers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2021
Underwater navigation presents crucial issues because of the rapid attenuation of electronic magnetic waves. The conventional underwater navigation methods are achieved by acoustic equipment, such as the ultra-short-baseline localisation systems and ...

Detection of Aruco Markers Using the Quadrilateral Sum Conjuncture [PDF]

open access: yesLecture Notes in Computer Science, 2018
Fiducial Markers are heavily used for pose estimation in many applications from robotics to augmented reality. In this paper we present an algorithm for the detection of aruco marker at larger distance. The algorithm uses the quadrilateral sum conjecture and analyzes the sum of the cosine of the internal angles to detect squares at larger distances ...

Tracking laying hens with ArUco marker backpacks

open access: yesSmart Agricultural Technology
The demand for improved animal welfare has lead to technological developments to effectively monitor and evaluate animal welfare. Measuring behaviour as an indicator of animal welfare has potential, but tracking and identifying animals remains ...

Development and computer-assisted validation of a radio frequency identification system for tracking individual chicken visits to functional areas [PDF]

open access: yesPoultry Science
Understanding how laying hens interact with functional resources—such as drinkers, feeders, perches, nest boxes, and wintergardens—is essential for meeting their physiological needs and enabling species-specific behaviors.

Tug-vimu: a GoPro-based mobility assessment bridging the gap between technology and clinical practice [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation
Background Accurate mobility assessment is critical for identifying individuals at risk of falls, particularly among older adults. While gold-standard motion capture systems offer high precision, their clinical adoption is often hindered by high costs ...
