Unspecific Peroxygenases-Catalyzed Oxidation of Pharmaceutical Compounds Considered Emerging Contaminants. [PDF]

PaDa‐I and JaWa, two evolved UPO variants, catalyze the oxidation of 9 out of 12 pharmaceutical emerging contaminants, with TTN up to 4500. The enzymes exhibit distinct substrate selectivity. Only PaDa‐I can catalyze the simultaneous oxidation of substrates in wastewater samples.

Three-Step One-Pot Photocatalytic Oxidation of Feedstocks and Organocatalytic Sequential Cascade to Access Enantioenriched α-Aminonitriles. [PDF]

A one‐pot, three‐step cascade from simple feedstocks to chiral building blocks is reported. By merging organic photocatalysis and noncovalent organocatalysis, benzylic substrates are transformed into enantioenriched α‐aminonitriles via CH photooxidation, imine formation, and asymmetric Strecker reaction. The aminoindanol core as a key scaffold in bifunctional organocatalysts
