Lignin degrading ability of selected aspergillus Spp.

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 1984
Most lignin research has been on wood-rot fungi and not on other lignolytic organisms. Members of the genusAspergillus inhabit lignin-rich environments, and we have studied their relative lignin-degrading potential.Aspergillus fumigatus, A. japonicus, A. niger, andA. terreus were tested for their ability to metabolize14C-labeled aromatic compounds. Innovative Strategies for the Management of Aspergillus spp. and Penicillium spp. on Nuts

2020
A significant part of the microbiota of nuts is represented by Aspergillus spp., whereas A. flavus and A. parasiticus are the main aflatoxigenic species of Aspergillus section Flavi. Nut production can be contaminated by mould development and by the mycotoxins.

Biodiversity and evolution of primary carbon metabolism in Aspergillus nidulans and other Aspergillus spp.

Fungal Genetics and Biology, 2009
Some of the Aspergilli are reputed for their versatile and efficient catabolism of soluble carbon sources and related metabolites as well as raw polymeric materials. Here, we present a detailed investigation of the genomic and evolutionary basis for this versatility, using seven Aspergillus and one Neosartorya genome sequences.

Invasive Aspergillus spp infections in rheumatology patients.

The Journal of rheumatology, 1999
The number of immunocompromised patients in hospitals has increased, resulting in a concomitant increase in the number of Aspergillus spp infections, with an exceedingly high death rate. From January 1995 through June 1996, 7 patients acquired invasive aspergillosis at a Maryland hospital (Hospital A).

Production of bioethanol from plantain peels using Aspergillus spp. and Saccharomyces spp.

Scientia Africana, 2018
The study investigated the production of bioethanol from ripe and unripe plantain peels. Aqueous extracts of plantain peels were obtained and inoculated with Saccharomyces cereviae and Aspergillus spp. The set-ups were incubated for a period of eight days.
