Astacus leptodactylus

2020
Narrow-clawed crayfish Astacus leptodactylus (Eschscholtz, 1823) The distribution of narrow-clawed crayfish is mainly linked with the south-eastern region of the country and more rarely in the rest of Latvia (Bērziņš 1936, Mazītis 1955, 1967, 1971). Earlier evaluations of the distribution of this species have been quite inconsistent.

Ontogeny of Osmoregulation in the CrayfishAstacus leptodactylus

Physiological and Biochemical Zoology, 2000
Osmoregulation was studied during the postembryonic development of Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz 1823 in juvenile stages 1-8 and in adults. Juveniles hatch and later stages develop in freshwater or in moderately saline waters. The time of acclimation from freshwater to a saline medium increased from early juveniles to adults.

Comparative studies of egg proteins of Astacus astacus and Astacus leptodactylus (crustacea, decapoda)

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1977
Abstract 1. 1. Composition of egg proteins of Astacus astacus and A. leptodactylus is compared by different methods. 2. 2. Disc electrophoresis reveals seven fractions in each case, four of them being identical in both species. 3. 3. By immunodiffusion (double diffusion test) three precipitin lines can be obtained, with one of them fusing.

Comparative Karyotype Investigations in the European Crayfish Astacus astacus and A. leptodactylus (Decapoda, Astacidae)

Crustaceana, 2011
AbstractThis study reports on the chromosome number and karyological characteristics of the endangered species of European crayfish, Astacus astacus and A. leptodactylus (Decapoda, Astacidae), both native to Croatian freshwater habitats. The karyotype of A. astacus and A. leptodactylus consists of 2n = 176 and 2n = 180 chromosomes, respectively.
