The paper demonstrates that double unit-cell asymmetry in periodic leaky-wave antennas (P-LWAs), i.e. asymmetry with respect to both the longitudinal and transversal axes of the structure -- or longitudinal asymmetry (LA) and transversal asymmetry (TA) --

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Ratchet potential for fluxons in Josephson-Junction arrays
We propose a simple configuration of a one-dimensional parallel array of Josephson junctions in which the pinning potential for trapped fluxons lacks inversion symmetry (ratchet potential).

Mid-IR heterogeneous silicon photonics [PDF]
In this paper we discuss silicon-based photonic integrated circuit technology for applications beyond the telecommunication wavelength range. Silicon-on-insulator and germanium-on-silicon passive waveguide circuits are described, as well as the ...

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

In practice, SiC MOSFET chips are often parallel-connected to promote the power rating. However, due to the potentially unequal circuit parameter and temperature distribution inside the power module, parallel devices suffer from different electrothermal stress, which may result in long-term reliability challenges.

Giant Asymmetric Radiation from an Ultrathin Bianisotropic Metamaterial
Unidirectional radiation is of particular interest in high-power lasing and optics. Commonly, however, it is difficult to achieve a unidirectional profile in such a system without breaking reciprocity.

This study demonstrates an artificial polymodal nociceptor whose firing threshold is actively modulated by temperature. A volatile TiN/TiOx/ZnO/TiOx/ITO memristor shows interfacial ion–driven resistive switching and membrane‐potential‐like dynamics, enabling temperature‐dependent nociceptive behavior.
