Coordinated Low-Voltage Ride-Through Control Strategy for Flywheel Energy Storage Systems

open access: yesApplied Sciences
To address DC-link voltage fluctuation, active-power imbalance between the machine side and the grid side, and double-frequency distortion in the grid current of a flywheel energy storage system (FESS) under symmetrical and asymmetrical voltage sag ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Conjugate Vectors Method Applied to Asymmetrical Fault Analysis of Power Electronized Power Systems

open access: yesCSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems
With the wide application of power electronized resources (PERs), the amplitude and frequency of voltages show significant time-varying characteristics under asymmetrical faults. As a result, the traditional phasor model, impedance model, and symmetrical

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Effect of Asymmetric Topography on Rupture Propagation Along Fault Stepovers

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2023
Abstract Complex fault systems are often located in regions with asymmetric topography on one side of a fault, and these systems are very common in Southern California. Along these fault systems, geometrical complexities such as stepovers can impact fault rupture.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

On-Line Current-Based Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis of Three-Phase Induction Motor [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2007
A stator current measurement has an important role in condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of induction motors. For instance, the eccentricity, rotor bars and end ring breaks, shorted stator windings can be detected by analyses based on stator ...

Brainstem and Cerebellar Volume Loss and Associated Clinical Features in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative ‘tauopathy’ with predominating pathology in the basal ganglia and midbrain. Caudal tau spread frequently implicates the cerebellum; however, the pattern of atrophy remains equivocal.
