Influence of an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere on Diamond‐Single‐Grain Scratching of Ti–6Al–4V

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐grain scratching of Ti–6Al–4V is investigated under controlled, oxygen‐free, and ambient atmospheres using a novel experimental setup with in situ high‐speed imaging. The approach enables direct observation of chip formation and adhesion under suppressed oxidation.

An Analysis of Asymmetrical and Open-Phase Modes in a Symmetrical Two-Channel Induction Machine with Consideration of Spatial Harmonics

open access: yesEnergies
This paper focuses on analyzing asymmetric and open-phase fault modes in symmetrical two-channel six-phase induction machines while considering the spatial harmonics of the electromagnetic field in the air gap.

Space Vector PWM Technique for a Three-level Asymmetrical Six-phase Drive [PDF]

open access: yes
A space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) strategy for a three-level asymmetrical six-phase drive, with a single neutral point, based on vector space decomposition (VSD) approach is presented for the first time in this paper.

Observation of Quantum Asymmetry in an Aharonov-Bohm Ring

open access: yes, 1999
We have investigated the Aharonov-Bohm effect in a one-dimensional GaAs/GaAlAs ring at low magnetic fields. The oscillatory magnetoconductance of these systems are for the first time systematically studied as a function of density.

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Fault tolerance of asymmetrical six-phase induction machine during single open circuit fault to three open circuit faults using GUI

open access: yes, 2020
The fault tolerance of multiphase drive is favourable in the industry for its reliability and safety reasons. However, from the educational point of view, the post-fault capability of six-phase machine is still unclear.

Natural Bone‐Derived Ceramic Scaffolds Functionalized with Chitosan‐Gold, Chitosan‐Magnesium, and Chitosan‐Zinc for Enhanced Antibacterial Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports the development of antibacterial ceramic scaffolds derived from natural bovine bone. The bones were processed through sequential boiling and hydrogen peroxide treatment to remove organic matter, producing porous, mineral‐rich scaffolds.

A Computationally Efficient CBPWM Technique Equivalent to the 4-D 24-Sector SVPWM for Asymmetrical Six-Phase EV Drivetrains

open access: yesIEEE Access
The growing adoption of asymmetrical six-phase machines (A6PM) in electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains necessitates computationally efficient and modulation-accurate carrier-based PWM (CBPWM) techniques. Double zero-sequence injection PWM (DZSPWM) is one of

In Situ Constructed Magnetic Core‐Shell Hydrogen‐Bonded Organic Framework‐on‐Metal–Organic Framework Structure: an Efficient Catalyst for Peroxymonosulfate Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...
