ASYMPTOTICALLY OPTIMAL DETERMINISTIC RENDEZVOUS
International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2011In this paper, we address the deterministic rendezvous in graphs where k mobile agents, disseminated at different times and different nodes, have to meet in finite time at the same node. The mobile agents are autonomous, oblivious, labeled, and move asynchronously. Moreover, we consider an undirected anonymous connected graph.

Asymptotically Optimal Appointment Schedules
Mathematics of Operations Research, 2019We consider the problem of scheduling appointments for a finite customer population to a service facility with customer no-shows to minimize the sum of customer waiting time and server overtime costs. Because appointments need to be scheduled ahead of time, we refer to this problem as an optimization problem rather than a dynamic control one. We study

Asymptotic Optimality of Balanced Routing
Operations Research, 2012Consider a system with K parallel servers, each with its own waiting room. Upon arrival, a job is routed to the queue of one of the servers. Finding a routing policy that minimizes the total workload in the system is a known difficult problem in general.

An Asymptotically Optimal Set Approach for Simulation Optimization
INFORMS Journal on Computing, 2019We propose an asymptotically optimal set (AOS) approach for solving stochastic optimization problems with discrete or continuous feasible regions. Our AOS approach is a framework for designing provably convergent algorithms that are adaptive in seeking new points and in resampling or discarding already sampled points.

Asymptotically Optimal Filters
The 31st ACM Symposium on Parallelism in Algorithms and Architectures, 2019A filter, such as a Bloom filter, maintains a compact, probabilistic representation of a set S of elements from a universe U. The challenge is to design a filter that uses optimal space and requires a constant number of memory accesses per query while supporting both insertions and deletions.

ASYMPTOTICALLY OPTIMAL PORTFOLIOS
Mathematical Finance, 1992This paper extends to continuous time the concept of universal portfolio introduced by Cover (1991). Being a performance weighted average of constant rebalanced portfolios, the universal portfolio outperforms constant rebalanced and buy‐and‐hold portfolios exponentially over the long run.

Simulation and the Asymptotics of Optimization Estimators

Asymptotically optimal quantizers (Corresp.)
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 1977Asymptotically accurate approximations for quantizer performance were developed by Gish and Pierce. Variational techniques were used to obtain asymptotically optimal performance. In this correspondence, optimal performance is demonstrated simply without variational techniques using Holder's and Jensen's inequalities.
