Agreeing Asynchronously: Announcement of Results [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 45th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
This paper formulates and solves a continuoustime version of the widely studied Vicsek consensus problem in which each agent independently updates its heading at times determined by its own clock. It is not assumed that the agents’ clocks are synchronized or that the “event” times between which any one agent updates its heading are evenly spaced ...

3D Bioprinted Fat‐Myocardium Model Unravels the Role of Adipocyte Hypertrophy in Atrial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A human‐derived 3D bioprinted fat–myocardium model is developed to investigate how adipocyte hypertrophy drives atrial dysfunction in obesity. Palmitate‐induced adipocyte hypertrophy promotes adipose dysfunction that impairs atrial cardiomyocyte metabolism and electrophysiology through both paracrine and direct interactions. This platform recapitulates

An Increasing Misalignment Between Crop Distribution and Environmental Resources Under Climate Change in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Climate change reshapes the spatial alignment between crop production and environmental resources. Using multi‐source data and a crop model, integrated climatic, water, and soil endowments for maize and wheat are quantified and compared with harvest distributions.

Extrema-Triggered Conversion for Non-Stationary Signal Acquisition in Wireless Sensor Nodes

open access: yesJournal of Low Power Electronics and Applications
While wireless sensor node (WSNs) have proliferated with the rise of the Internet of Things (IoT), uniformly sampled analog–digital converters (ADCs) have traditionally reigned paramount in the signal processing pipeline.

Targeting PRKCN, an Essential Driver Orchestrating mTOR‐IRF4 Axis Independently of Kinase Activity, in Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Constitutive PRKCN expression is driven by super‐enhancers and modulated by NF‐κB signaling in multiple myeloma (MM). PRKCN activates mTORC1/2‐IRF4 signaling axis and favors tumor cell growth independently of its kinase activity. IRF4 reciprocally promotes PRKCN transcription, creating a feed‐forward loop.

Asynchronous Stochastic Approximations [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1998
The asymptotic behavior of a distributed, asynchronous stochastic approximation scheme is analyzed in terms of a limiting nonautonomous differential equation. The relation between the latter and the relative values of suitably rescaled relative frequencies of updates of different components is underscored.

Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...
