Investigating the Effects of Different Distance Learning Modalities on Student Academic Performance in Technology Education Programs

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Education
The rise of online distance learning has necessitated investigations into its effectiveness across various educational contexts. This study examines the academic performance of students enrolled in technology education programs across three distinct ...

Asynchronous Scattering

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
In this paper, we consider the problem of scattering a swarm of mobile oblivious robots in a continuous space. We consider the fully asynchronous setting where robots may base their computation on past observations, or may be observed by other robots while moving.

Evaluation of a Novel Electric Health Record Sidecar Application to Display Rheumatoid Arthritis Clinical Outcomes During Clinic Visits: Results of a Stepped‐Wedge Cluster Randomized Pragmatic Trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We developed a novel electronic health record sidecar application to visualize key rheumatoid arthritis (RA) outcomes, including disease activity, physical function, and pain, via a patient‐facing graphical interface designed for use during outpatient visits (“RA PRO dashboard”).

A behavioral synthesis system for asynchronous circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Behavioral synthesis of synchronous systems is a well established and researched area. The transformation of behavioral description into a datapath and control graph, and hence, to a structural realization usually requires three fundamental steps: 1 ...

Effect of Implementing a Dashboard With or Without a Best Practice Alert on HLA‐B*58:01 Testing Rates Among Allopurinol Users at VA Medical Centers

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The American College of Rheumatology recommends HLA‐B*58:01 allele testing before the initiation of allopurinol, specifically among Asian and African American/Black patients, due to their increased risk for severe hypersensitivity reactions. However, testing rates remain low at many health care facilities.

Integrating Patient‐Reported Quality Measures in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: Development of the American College of Rheumatology Implementation Guide

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To support high‐quality, patient‐centered care for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) developed evidence‐based measures incorporating clinical and patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs). Using the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR), we conducted semistructured interviews ...

Asynchronous exclusive selection [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the twenty-seventh ACM symposium on Principles of distributed computing, 2008
We consider the task of assigning unique integers to a group of processes in an asynchronous distributed system of a total of $n$ processes prone to crashes that communicate through shared read-write registers. In the Renaming problem, an arbitrary group of $k\le n$ processes that hold the original names from a range $[N]=\{1,\ldots,N\}$, contend to ...

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Distributed differential space-time spreading for the asynchronous relay aided interference-free cooperative CDMA uplink [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we propose a differential Space-Time Coding (STC) scheme designed for asynchronous cooperative networks, where neither channel estimation nor symbol-level synchronization is required at the cooperating nodes.
