Assembly of Cell‐Seeded 3D Printed Hydrogel Modules with Perfusable Channel Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Macroscale assembly was utilized to prepare perfusable tissue constructs from individually 3D printed hydrogel modules with embedded branched channel networks and port arrays for cell seeding. Novel multi‐material bioreactors were fabricated to facilitate the gluing of individual modules and the perfusion culture of assembled modular constructs seeded ...

Consensus using Asynchronous Failure Detectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The FLP result shows that crash-tolerant consensus is impossible to solve in asynchronous systems, and several solutions have been proposed for crash-tolerant consensus under alternative (stronger) models.

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Using Debate in an Online Asynchronous Social Policy Course

open access: yesOnline Learning, 2019
This paper presents the use of a debate in an online asynchronous social policy course.  Debate is frequently used as an instructional strategy in higher education, but little is known about the use of this tool in an online learning environment ...

Asynchronous-transition HMM [PDF]

open access: yes2000 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37100), 2002
We propose a new class of hidden Markov model (HMM) called asynchronous-transition HMM (AT-HMM). Opposed to conventional HMMs where hidden state transition occurs simultaneously to all features, the new class of HMM allows state transitions asynchronized between individual features to better model asynchronous timings of acoustic feature changes.

Recapitulating Endochondral Ossification for Bone Repair: From Development to Engineering Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the developmental basis of endochondral ossification (ECO) and its applications in bone tissue engineering (BTE). It first outlines the key biological processes and signaling pathways underlying ECO, then discusses biomaterial‐based engineering strategies derived from these principles, and finally highlights future directions for
