Predetermination of dynamical stresses of asynchronous traction motors

The XIX International Conference on Electrical Machines - ICEM 2010, 2010
In design of asynchronous machine that operate in dynamical regimes, as is the case of traction motors, modeling and simulation are mandatory stages. Only on this base is possible manufacturing of a motor that to correspond to given dynamic response conditions.

Investigation of Idle Running and Short-Circuit Performance Improvement for an Asynchronous Traction Motor

2019 International Conference on Electromechanical and Energy Systems (SIELMEN), 2019
It is proposed the possibility to simulate the idle running and short-circuit performance of an asynchronous traction motor. These tests are important, as they allow for the calculation of the motor parameters.

Simulation of dynamical processes specific to asynchronous traction motors

SPEEDAM 2010, 2010
In case of motors working in complex dynamical regimes, evaluation by modeling and simulation of electromagnetic and mechanical stresses, becomes a mandatory objective. In the present paper, means of investigation are presented and, on this basis, some dynamical processes of traction asynchronous motors are analyzed.

Calculation of asynchronous traction motor start-up characteristics by FEM method

International Symposium on Power Electronics Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2012
2D and 3D calculation of squirrel-cage traction motor start-up characteristics at rated voltage and frequency have been performed by using a numerical FEM based program. From the equivalent circuit parameters, which are obtained by analytical calculation, a simulation of a start-up using an analytical dynamic model was performed.

Reducing the vibration of bearing units of electric vehicle asynchronous traction motors

Journal of Vibration and Control, 2020
The impact of the accuracy class of bearings, rotational speed, load, clearances, and fits on the vibration levels of electric motor bearing units is investigated. The ways to reduce the vibrations of mechanical origin are offered. The boundary vibration levels of asynchronous motors limited by vibration levels of 40 dB at a frequency of 5 Hz and 80 ...

The temperature effect on the performance of a traction asynchronous motor

Russian Electrical Engineering, 2011
The faults and damages of the asynchronous motors currently used in the traction rolling stock are reviewed. It is shown that a significant number of failures in operation are due to the excessive temperature in the stator coil and how it affects the mechanical characteristics and the traction performance of the asynchronous motor windings.
