The hybrid financial instruments : the effects of the OECD BEPS Action 2 report and the ATAD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This contribution critically assesses the complex hybrid mismatch rule concerning financial instruments as developed under the OECD BEPS action 2-proposal and subsequently implemented in the Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive (ATAD).

Real‐World Treatment Patterns in AERD: An Analysis of ATAD, Biologics, and Combination Therapy

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, Volume 16, Issue 1, Page 99-101, January 2026.
Key Points Contemporary aspirin exacerbated respiratory disorder (AERD) therapy commonly includes aspirin desensitization (55%) and biologics (48%). Aspirin desensitization therapy has higher discontinuation rates than biologics. Patients receiving biologics are younger, and ∼25% of the patients switch to other agents.

Toxoplasma gondii dense granule protein 3 promotes endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced apoptosis by activating the PERK pathway

open access: yesParasites & Vectors, 2022
Background Toxoplasma gondii is a neurotropic single-celled parasite that can infect mammals, including humans. Central nervous system infection with T. gondii infection can lead to Toxoplasma encephalitis.

Perspectives in Therapy of Chronic Rhinosinusitis

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2022
The recent classification of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) focusses on investigating underlying immunopathophysiological mechanisms. Primary CRS is subdivided based on endotype dominance into type 2 (that relates mostly to the Th2 immune response with ...

Improvement of Energy Efficiency for Wastewater Treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Wastewater treatment requires the elimination of pathogens and reduction of organic matter in the treated sludge to acceptable levels. One process used to achieve this is Autothermal Thermophylic Aerobic Digestion (ATAD), which relies on promoting non ...

Decoding the Self: Single‐Trial Prediction of Self‐Boundary Meditation States From Magnetoencephalography Recordings

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 1, January 2026.
Meditation‐induced self‐boundary dissolution can be predicted from magnetoencephalography recordings using Lempel‐Ziv complexity and oscillatory power as neural markers. We demonstrate significantly above‐chance classification of altered self‐experience on a single‐trial basis and show that it is mediated by complex activation patterns across brain ...

Alzheimer's Disease in Ghanaian Medical Education: Investigating the Effect of Curriculum Changes on Student Perceptions and Attitudes

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue S6, December 2025.
Abstract Background Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with significant public health implications. In Ghana, limited awareness among healthcare professionals often delays diagnosis and care. Medical students are crucial to addressing this gap, yet their training on AD remains inadequate.

Sigmoid(x): secure distributed network storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Secure data storage is a serious problem for computer users today, particularly in enterprise environments. As data requirements grow, traditional approaches of secured silos are showing their limitations. They represent a single – or at least, limited –

Growth, yield and physiology of Verticillium-inoculated pepper plants treated with ATAD and composted sewage sludge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A greenhouse experiment was conducted to investigate the impact of sanitized sewage sludges, ATAD (aerobic thermophilic autothermic digestion) and composted, on Verticillium-induced wilt in pepper plants (Capsicum annuum L. cv. Piquillo).
