Among the various factors affecting the development of atherosclerosis and its complications, the diet emerges as an important influence. This article reviews the evidence linking diet and atherosclerosis; the relation between serum cholesterol concentration and incidence of coronary heart disease, and the effect of various dietary components on the ...

Gut metabolite trimethylamine N‐oxide accumulates in the diabetic wound area to amplify macrophage inflammation via enhancing glycolysis activities. Kinsenoside induces macrophage repolarization from M1 to M2 phenotype through inhibiting IRE1α/XBP1 pathway, followed by HIF‐1α‐glycolysis axis repression and mitophagy‐oxidative phosphorylation axis ...

Abnormal mechanical stretch induced by mechanical ventilation (MV) disrupts endothelial junctions via the NOX2/ROS/CaMKII/ERK1/2 axis both in human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs) in vitro and in ventilator‐induced lung injury (VILI) in mice. Quercetin, an antioxidant predicted to bind to NOX2, can effectively prevent mechanical stretch‐induced ...

Migrasomes play a crucial role in endothelial‐immune interactions in atherosclerosis. This study identifies migrasomes as amplifiers in the inflammatory cascade, driving immune‐metabolic reprogramming via “migrasome‐APP‐CD74” signaling. Blocking CD74 disrupts migrasome‐mediated signaling, attenuating atherosclerosis progression.

Schwann cells may facilitate intracranial plaque progression via neurovascular remodelingcting with vascular smooth muscle cells in atherosclerotic plaques, with the SPP1 ‐ ITGB1 signaling axis mediating this interaction as a novel mechanism. Abstract Intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS), a common cause of ischemic stroke, remains a therapeutic ...
