Construction of a Multitissue Cell Atlas Reveals Cell‐Type‐Specific Regulation of Molecular and Complex Phenotypes in Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This research conducts an in‐depth investigation of cell‐type‐specific regulatory mechanisms underlying molecular and complex phenotypes through integrative analysis of multitissue single‐nucleus RNA sequencing, bulk RNA‐seq, and genome‐wide association study (GWAS) data in pigs.

FMO2 Promotes Angiogenesis via Regulation of N‐Acetylornithine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies flavin‐containing monooxygenase 2 (FMO2) as a novel proangiogenic regulator in endothelial cells. Targeted FMO2 ablation impairs vessel sprouting, whereas its compensation potently enhances angiogenesis. Metabolomics and single‐cell sequencing reveal that FMO2 drives vascular growth via the N‐acetylornithine/ATF3/NOTCH1 axis ...

Impact of Intended Isocaloric Early versus Late Time‐Restricted Eating on Plasma Lipidome in Women with Overweight or Obesity: Secondary Analysis of the ChronoFast Trial

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Women with overweight or obesity follow intended isocaloric early and late time‐restricted eating (TRE) in a crossover trial. Shotgun plasma lipidomics reveals no significant differences between interventions, but identify pronounced lipid changes—including reductions in ceramides and phosphatidylcholines—within the early TRE.

Impact of age on the host response to sepsis in a murine model of fecal-induced peritonitis

open access: yesIntensive Care Medicine Experimental
Introduction Despite older adults being more vulnerable to sepsis, most preclinical research on sepsis has been conducted using young animals. This results in decreased scientific validity since age is an independent predictor of poor outcome.

Nestinþ cells direct inflammatory cell migration in atherosclerosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Atherosclerosis is a leading death cause. Endothelial and smooth muscle cells participate in atherogenesis, but it is unclear whether other mesenchymal cells contribute to this process. Bone marrow (BM) nestinþ cells cooperate with endothelial cells in

Single‐Cell Dissection of the Biological Function and Molecular Features Underlying the Micropeptide LSMEM1 in Kidney

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LSMEM1, an evolutionarily conserved micropeptide with extreme hydrophobicity (aliphatic index═113) and dynamic amphiphilicity (GRAVY═0.017), features a strong α‐helical transmembrane anchor (residues 64‐86). Single‐cell analysis reveals its critical role in renal lipid homeostasis.
