Decreased multidrug resistance protein 1 and increased platelet activation in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome

open access: yesSleep Research, EarlyView.
There was a positive correlation between apnea/hypopnea index (AHI) index and platelet aggregation and a negative correlation between CD42b and multidrug resistance protein 1 (MRP1). Platelet activation was high while MRP1 expression was low in severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) independent of smoking, age, and gender.

A Protein Corona‐Based Diagnostic Tool for Eroded Atherosclerotic Plaques

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Protein Corona (PC) is a layer of proteins formed on the surface of nanoparticles (NPs) that are used as a tool for discriminati onof an experimental superficial erosion atherosclerotic injury in mice. Through a selection of different metals in the composition of metal‐organic framework (MOF) NPs, distinct corona proteins are formed on its surface, as ...

Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography Imaging‐Guided Polydopamine Nanoparticles Attenuate Foam Cell Ferroptosis for Targeted Antiatherosclerotic Therapy

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
Folate‐ and arginine‐modified polydopamine nanoparticles (FPLG NPs) are designed for the specific targeting of atherosclerotic foam cells. These nanoparticles combat ferroptosis by scavenging reactive oxygen species, regulating iron/lipid metabolism, and upregulating the GPX4/NRF2 pathway. Using chelator‐free 68Ga‐labeling, positron emission tomography/
