Terpenoid and carbonyl emissions from Norway spruce in Finland during the growing season [PDF]
We present spring and summer volatile organic compound (VOC) emission rate measurements from Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst) growing in a boreal forest in southern Finland.

Recent atmospheric Pb deposition at a rural site in southern Germany assessed using a peat core and snowpack, and comparison with other archives [PDF]
In a peat bog from Black Forest, Southern Germany, the rate of atmospheric Pb accumulation was quantified using a peat core dated by 210Pb and 14C. The most recent Pb accumulation rate (2.5 mg m−2 y−1) is similar to that obtained from a snowpack on the ...

Atmospheric Structure and Composition
Titan's atmosphere is predominantly N2 with CH4 the next most abundant molecule. It has a mole fraction of 0.05 just above the surface decreasing to 0.014 in the stratosphere. Above the homopause (~800–850 km), it increases to 0.12 at the exobase. The third abundant molecule is H2 with a tropospheric mole fraction of 0.001 increasing to 0.004 at ~1000 ...

Validation of TROPOMI and WRF-Chem NO2 across seasons using SWING+ and surface observations over Bucharest [PDF]
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are key pollutants involved in ozone and particulate matter formation, with strong spatial variability near urban sources. Accurate monitoring of tropospheric nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is essential for air quality management and relies

Methane exchange at the peatland forest floor – automatic chamber system exposes the dynamics of small fluxes [PDF]
We measured methane (CH4) exchange rates with automatic chambers at the forest floor of a nutrient-rich drained peatland in 2011–2013. The fen, located in southern Finland, was drained for forestry in 1969 and the tree stand is now a mixture of Scots ...

The atmospheric chemistry of the warm Neptune GJ 3470b: influence of metallicity and temperature on the CH4/CO ratio [PDF]
Current observation techniques are able to probe the atmosphere of some giant exoplanets and get some clues about their atmospheric composition. However, the chemical compositions derived from observations are not fully understood, as for instance in the

Reducing the impact of source brightness fluctuations on spectra obtained by Fourier-transform spectrometry [PDF]
We present a method to reduce the impact of source brightness fluctuations (SBFs) on spectra recorded by Fourier-transform spectrometry (FTS). Interferograms are recorded without AC coupling of the detector signal (DC mode). The SBF are determined by low-

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Measurement report: The effects of SECA regulations on the atmospheric SO2 concentrations in the Baltic Sea, based on long-term observations on the Finnish island, Utö [PDF]
The designation of the Baltic Sea as a sulfur emission control area (SECA) in May 2006, with subsequent tightening of regulations in 2010 and 2015, has reduced the sulfuric emission from shipping traffic.
