Martian atmospheric hydrogen and deuterium: Seasonal changes and paradigm for escape to space

open access: yes
International audienceMars’ water history is fundamental to understanding Earth-like planet evolution. Water escapes to space as atoms, and hydrogen atoms escape faster than deuterium giving an increase in the residual D/H ratio.

Mixing‐Driven Defects and Composition Evolution in Multi‐Material Metal Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Operando synchrotron X‐ray imaging coupled with high‐fidelity multiphysics modeling uncovers how inter‐material mixing reshapes keyhole dynamics and drives distinct pore‐formation pathways in multi‐material laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Composition‐dependent instabilities trigger defects, whereas rescanning suppresses porosity and homogenizes Cu ...

Interpreting atmospheric escape observations from close-in exoplanets

open access: yes
Exoplanet searches have uncovered a large population of planets at small orbital separations. Due to the proximity of these planets to their host stars, they receive intense irradiation.

Trap Depth Modulation and Antenna Effect of Organic Ligands for Enhancing Rare‐Earth Long Persistent Luminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Different from the current research trends that mainly focus on optimizing a single color system, a universal organic–inorganic hybrid strategy is proposed, aiming to synergistically enhance the luminescent properties of red, green, and blue multi‐color inorganic long‐persistent phosphorescent materials by trap depth modulation and antenna effect of ...

Metal‐Support Interaction Triggered Electronic Reconstruction in Pd/CoN‐Co4N Catalysts for Optimizing MEK Oxidation and Poisoning Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The strengthened EMSI in Pd/CoN‐Co4N induces electronic rearrangement, generating abundant Pd0 species in situ, modulating the Pd d‐band center to enhance O2 adsorption and MEK activation. Concurrently, it creates numerous Lewis acid sites that preferentially adsorb poisons and shield the active sites.

A comparative study on welding characteristics and mechanical properties of Ti–6Al–4V laser welded joints under the sub-atmospheric pressure and beam oscillation

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Sub-atmospheric pressure environment and oscillation laser are both excellent ways to improve welded joint quality. However, the differences in their effects and mechanisms are unclear.

PDIA6–SCD1 Axis Rewires Lipid Metabolism to Drive Gastric Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Protein disulfide isomerase A6 (PDIA6) is identified as an oncogenic driver in gastric cancer. PDIA6 directly binds and stabilizes SCD1 by limiting its ubiquitin–proteasome‐mediated degradation, thereby sustaining monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA)‐enriched lipid homeostasis and lipid metabolic reprogramming.

A story of bubbles and streams:Morphologies and tracers of atmospheric escape in exoplanets [PDF]

open access: yes
Atmospheric escape, the loss of atmospheric gas to space, plays a critical role in shaping planetary climates, compositions, and long-term habitability.

A Wireless 3D Magneto‐Mechanical Stimulation Platform Drives In Situ Chondrogenic Commitment of Endogenous MSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intracellular magneto‐mechanical platform utilizing MSC‐targeted nanomotors is developed. After intra‐articular delivery, these nanomotors target endogenous BMSCs and are actuated within lysosomes to execute trans‐planar rotational‐bouncing motions under a rotating‐fluctuating 3D magnetic field, generating amplified mechanical stimulation.
