Competition and succession among coral endosymbionts
Host species often support a genetically diverse guild of symbionts, the identity and performance of which can determine holobiont fitness under particular environmental conditions.

High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

The thermal diffusivity of MgO‐C refractories is highly sensitive to sample preparation and processing procedures. In this article, the effects of coking sequence, machining conditions, structural inhomogeneity, and graphite coating application on measurements using laser flash apparatus are systematically investigated.

We develop a Python-based state-of-the-art sub-Neptune evolution model that incorporates both the post-formation boil-off at young ages ≤1 Myr and long-lived core-powered mass loss (∼Gyr) from interior cooling.

Paleobiological Clues to Early Atmospheric Evolution
The compositional evolution of Earth's early atmosphere reflected a complex interplay between the planetary processes of accretion and differentiation, massive impact events, and voluminous magmatism. Once it reached clement conditions, trace gases were introduced by the developing biosphere.

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

This study investigates the tribological response of 60NiTi alloy under dry, water‐lubricated and high‐temperature conditions. The alloy exhibits decreasing wear volume and friction with increasing temperature due to the formation of protective oxide layers. The work clarifies dominant wear mechanisms and demonstrates the suitability of 60NiTi for high‐

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

On the Divergent Evolution of Io and Europa as Primordial Ocean Worlds
The Galilean moons exhibit a decrease in bulk density with distance from Jupiter, which may reflect differences in evolutionary paths and water loss. Early in its history, Jupiter was more luminous, which may have driven substantial atmospheric escape on
