Increased atmospheric vapor pressure deficit reduces global vegetation growth
Global vegetation greening trend stalled after the late 1990s due to increased atmospheric water demand. Atmospheric vapor pressure deficit (VPD) is a critical variable in determining plant photosynthesis.

Evolution of an Early Titan Atmosphere: Comment [PDF]
Escape of an early atmosphere from Titan, during which time NH3 could be converted by photolysis into the present N2 dominated atmosphere, is an important problem in planetary science. Recently Gilliam and Lerman (2014) estimated escape driven by the surface temperature and pressure, which we show gave loss rates that are orders of magnitude too large.

Five Mars Years of Cloud Observations at Gale Crater: Opacities, Variability, and Ice Crystal Habits
We update the record of cloud opacity observations conducted by the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) Curiosity rover to cover the first five Mars Years (MYs) of the mission ( L _s = 160° of MY 31 to L _s = 160° of MY 36).

Atmospheric Retrieval of Exoplanets [PDF]
Exoplanetary atmospheric retrieval refers to the inference of atmospheric properties of an exoplanet given an observed spectrum. The atmospheric properties include the chemical compositions, temperature profiles, clouds/hazes, and energy circulation. These properties, in turn, can provide key insights into the atmospheric physicochemical processes of ...

The formation, properties and impact of secondary organic aerosol: current and emerging issues [PDF]
Secondary organic aerosol (SOA) accounts for a significant fraction of ambient tropospheric aerosol and a detailed knowledge of the formation, properties and transformation of SOA is therefore required to evaluate its impact on atmospheric processes ...
