Therapeutic applications of a novel humanized monoclonal antibody targeting chemokine receptor CCR9 in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
C–C chemokine receptor type 9 (CCR9) is an immune checkpoint in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Novel anti‐CCR9 antibody SRB2 was evaluated in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy in PDAC cells, patient‐derived organoids, patient‐derived xenografts, and humanized mouse models.

Diurnal and seasonal variations of the incoming solar radiation flux at a tropical station, Ile-Ife, Nigeria

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
The diurnal and seasonal variations of the incoming solar radiation have been studied by analysing two years data measured between January, 2016 to December, 2017 at a Tropical station, Ile-Ife (7.53°N; 4.54°E), Nigeria.

Water Resources Response to Climate and Land-Cover Changes in a Semi-Arid Watershed, New Mexico, USA

open access: yesTerrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, 2015
This research evaluates a climate-land cover-water resources interconnected system in a semi-arid watershed with minimal human impact from 1970 - 2009. We found _ increase in temperature and 10.9% decrease in precipitation.

Martian atmospheric O3 retrieval development for the NOMAD-UVIS spectrometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The composition of atmospheric trace gases and aerosols is a highly variable and poorly constrained component of the martian atmosphere, and by affecting martian climate and UV surface dose, represents a key parameter in the assessment of suitability for

High Energy Neutrino Astronomy: WIN 99 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Although high energy neutrino astronomy is a multidisciplinary science, gamma ray bursts have become the theoretical focus since recent astronomical observations revealed their potential as cosmic particle accelerators.

Atmospheric new particle formation from sulfuric acid and amines in a Chinese megacity

open access: yesScience, 2018
A puzzle of new particles Atmospheric particulates can be produced by emissions or form de novo. New particle formation usually occurs in relatively clean air.

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Comparing causal techniques for rainfall variability analysis using causality algorithms in Iran

open access: yesHeliyon, 2018
Causal analysis (CA) is a strong quantitative approach whose mechanisms have climatic predictions. In this study, we studied the patterns of causality (PC) on the effect of rainfall (ER) using climatic series collected from 170 stations for the period ...

Dryness Indices Based on Remotely Sensed Vegetation and Land Surface Temperature for Evaluating the Soil Moisture Status in Cropland-Forest-Dominant Watersheds

open access: yesTerrestrial, Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, 2015
The Temperature Vegetation Dryness Index (TVDI) was derived from the relationship between remotely sensed vegetation indices and land surface temperature (TS) in this study for assessing the soil moisture status at regional scale in South Korea. The Leaf

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.
