RKIP overexpression reduces lung adenocarcinoma aggressiveness and sensitizes cells to EGFR‐targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RKIP, a metastasis suppressor protein, modulates key oncogenic pathways in lung adenocarcinoma. In silico analyses linked low RKIP expression to poor survival. Functional studies revealed RKIP overexpression reduces tumor aggressiveness and enhances sensitivity to EGFR‐targeted therapies, while its loss promotes resistance.

Origin of atmospheric aerosols at the Pierre Auger Observatory using backward trajectory of air masses

open access: yes, 2012
The Pierre Auger Observatory is the largest operating cosmic ray observatory ever built. Calorimetric measurements of extensive air showers induced by cosmic rays are performed with a fluorescence detector.

Microglia limit brain tumor development by restricting tumor cell proliferation and inducing T‐cell immunity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Microglia (BV2) and IL‐4‐treated BMDMs promote astrocytoma clustering and inhibit tumor growth, not shown in other macrophage cells. In vivo, microglial co‐implantation enhances CD8+ T cell infiltration, elevates Granzyme B, lowers circulating MDSCs, and extends survival only in immune‐competent mice, but not in immune‐deficient mice.

Atmospheric blockages as trigger of environmental contingencies in Mexico City

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
Atmospheric pollution in cities is due to several human factors, for instance the number of cars in circulation, fuel efficiency and industrial waste, as well as orographic and meteorological conditions that determine air circulation. Ozone contingencies

Self-Organizing Maps: A Powerful Tool for the Atmospheric Sciences

open access: yes, 2012
Self-organizing maps (SOMs) are a powerful tool used to extract obscure diagnostic infor‐ mation from large datasets. In the context of issues related to threats from greenhouse-gasinduced global climate change, SOMs have recently found their way into ...
