Atmospheric Tides in the Latest Generation of Climate Models
For atmospheric tides driven by solar heating, the database of climate model output used in the most recent assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) confirms and extends the authors’ earlier results based on the previous ...

Zein‐Based Adhesives: Sustainable Extraction and Application in Bioadhesive Technologies
Zein is extracted from corn gluten meal using a simple and scalable process with high yield (~90%). The resulting protein is applied in bioadhesives modified with Ca2+ and Fe3+ ions, exhibiting substrate‐dependent adhesion. The findings demonstrate competitive bonding performance and highlight the role of ionic interactions in tuning adhesion ...

An analytical system enabling consistent and long-term measurement of atmospheric dimethyl sulfide
We describe here an analytical system capable of continuous measurement of atmospheric dimethylsulfide (DMS) at pptv levels. The system uses customized devices for detector calibration and for DMS trapping and desorption that are controlled using a data ...

It is shown that laser ablation pretreatment under oxygen‐free conditions enables copper–aluminium bonding at significantly lower deformation degrees and improved properties compared to mechanical brushing. Laser ablation further increases interface contact area and induces favourable residual stress states and microstructural compatibility ...

Doppler Radar Observations of a Mountain Hailstorm
By means of an X-band, vertically pointing Doppler radar observations were made of a thunderstorm on 20 August 1973 producing hail about 6 mm in diameter. The observations confirm earlier ones showing a highly variable internal structure.

Global dust model intercomparison in AeroCom phase I
This study presents the results of a broad intercomparison of a total of 15 global aerosol models within the AeroCom project. Each model is compared to observations related to desert dust aerosols, their direct radiative effect, and their impact on the ...

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...
