Atomic Photoionization Cross Sections
1978In these lectures I will discuss various methods of calculating atomic photoionization cross sections with emphasis on resonant structures. I will attempt to order the methods according to the complexity of the problem that they can be used on. Thus the Feshbach projection operator formalism, which is most applicable to the calculation of resonance ...

Atom–diatomic molecule kinetic theory cross sections
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1985Classical expressions for the generalized or kinetic theory cross sections for gases of diatomic molecules derived earlier are specialized to describe atom–diatomic molecules collisions and developed further. Numerical results based on parameters intended to describe Ar–N2 collisions are then presented and the resulting generalized cross sections are ...

Relativistic photoionization cross sections for atomic Mg
Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 2010The photoionization cross sections of the ground level (3s(2) S-1(0)) of atomic Mg have been studied theoretically in the energy region between the Mg+(3s) and Mg+(3p) threshold using the fully relativistic R-matrix method. The positions and widths of resonances have also been obtained and compared with a recent experiment (Wehlitz et al 2007 J.

SOME LOW-ENERGY ATOMIC STOPPING CROSS SECTIONS
Canadian Journal of Physics, 1965The electronic stopping cross sections for protons in aluminum are reported in the energy interval 10 < E < 70 keV. Stopping cross sections below 150 keV in carbon targets for projectiles with [Formula: see text], and in aluminum targets for [Formula: see text] are reported also. The results are compared with theory and show reasonable agreement.

Determination of Positronium – Atom Collision Cross Section
Canadian Journal of Physics, 1975We have determined the collision cross section of positronium in He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, N2, and isobutane gases at thermal energies by studying the diffusion of positronium to the walls of a specially designed chamber. The time distribution of annihilations is measured as a function of pressure for each gas.

Photoionization cross sections for atomic oxygen
Planetary and Space Science, 1967Abstract Photoionization cross sections for ground state atomic oxygen are presented for wavelengths longer than 25 A. Multi-channel expressions, in the dipole approximation, are used to calculate cross sections for the ejection of an outer subshell electron.

Spin-change cross sections between hydrogen atoms
Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1964The quantal formula for spin change in the collision of a pair of hydrogen atoms is evaluated at temperatures up to 1000 °K. Good agreement is obtained at temperature greater than 10 °K with the semi-classical calculations of Smith.

Analytical ionization cross sections for atomic collisions
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1991General analytical expressions for cross sections for direct ionization in atom–atom collisions are evaluated using the classical impulse approximation. The approach is also applied to ion–atom and molecule–molecule interactions. The overall accuracy of the obtained cross sections in a broad range of energy is better, when compared with existing ...

Electron impact ionization cross sections of atoms
Canadian Journal of Physics, 2015In this article, we report the electron impact ionization cross sections for atoms Si, P, S, Sc, Cr, Mn, Co, Zn, Ga, Ge, Nb, Rh, and Cd, having applications in different areas of applied science and technology. The energy regime for the calculation is from the ionization threshold of the target to 2000 eV.
