Evaluation of gamma-ray strength function based on measured gamma-ray pulse-height spectra in time-of-flight neutron capture experiments [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
In order to develop an evaluation method of gamma-ray strength function (GSF), neutron capture pulse-height (PH) spectrum of gold was employed, where it was measured with the NaI(Tl) spectrometer of AN-NRI installed at the Material and Life Science ...

Nuclear effects in atomic transitions

open access: yes, 2010
Atomic electrons are sensitive to the properties of the nucleus they are bound to, such as nuclear mass, charge distribution, spin, magnetization distribution, or even excited level scheme.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Nucleosynthesis: Stellar and Solar Abundances and Atomic Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Abundance observations indicate the presence of often surprisingly large amounts of neutron capture (i.e., s- and r-process) elements in old Galactic halo and globular cluster stars.

UNCERTAINTIES IN ATOMIC DATA AND THEIR PROPAGATION THROUGH SPECTRAL MODELS. I. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We present a method for computing uncertainties in spectral models, i.e., level populations, line emissivities, and emission line ratios, based upon the propagation of uncertainties originating from atomic data.

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Evaluations and calculations of neutron reactions on 238U up to 20 MeV

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
In order to improve the quality of neutron data for 238U in CENDL, considering the impact of new measurements, a brand-new evaluation of the complete set of neutron induced 238U reaction data up to 20 MeV has been performed. Important reactions, such as (

Study of the Spin-Memory Effect with low-energy gamma-rays in 177Hf(n,γ)178Hf reaction measurement [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
A method on the basis of the Spin-Memory Effect (SME) is available to measure the total angular momentum J of a resonance in a neutron capture reaction. This method uses the fact that the intensity ratio of two gamma-rays emitted from a resonance depends
