This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

Spectral Theory and Hardy Spaces for Bessel Operators in Non-Standard Geometries
This paper develops novel results in the harmonic analysis of Bessel operators, extending their theory to higher-dimensional and non-Euclidean spaces. We present a refined framework for Hardy spaces associated with Bessel operators, emphasizing atomic ...

A Systematic Approach to Atomicity Decomposition in Event-B [PDF]
Event-B is a state-based formal method that supports a refinement process in which an abstract model is elaborated towards an implementation in a step-wise manner. One weakness of Event-B is that control flow between events is typically modelled implicitly via variables and event guards.

Creating Ti–Fe α/β Alloys by Diffusion‐Driven Solid‐State Processing
This study proposes making alloys containing fast diffusing elements that are difficult to produce by ingot metallurgy, by diffusion‐driven solid‐state HIP processing of elemental powders and low‐temperature homogenisation. Here, novel Fe‐Ti α–β alloys are formed having fine α–β lamellae, a small β prior grain size without significant intermetallics ...

Atomic decompositions of audio signals [PDF]
Signal modeling techniques ranging from basis expansions to parametric approaches have been applied to audio signal processing. Motivated by the fundamental limitations of basis expansions for representing arbitrary signal features and providing means for signal modifications, we consider decompositions in terms of functions that are both signal ...

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.
