RKIP, a metastasis suppressor protein, modulates key oncogenic pathways in lung adenocarcinoma. In silico analyses linked low RKIP expression to poor survival. Functional studies revealed RKIP overexpression reduces tumor aggressiveness and enhances sensitivity to EGFR‐targeted therapies, while its loss promotes resistance.

Rotary-Atomizer Electric Power Generator [PDF]
We report experimental and theoretical results on a ballistic energy-conversion method based on a rotary atomizer working with a droplet acceleration-deceleration cycle. In a rotary atomizer, liquid is fed onto the center of a rotating flat surface, where it spreads out under the action of the centrifugal force and creates "atomized" droplets at its ...

Decrypting cancer's spatial code: from single cells to tissue niches
Spatial transcriptomics maps gene activity across tissues, offering powerful insights into how cancer cells are organised, switch states and interact with their surroundings. This review outlines emerging computational, artificial intelligence (AI) and geospatial approaches to define cell states, uncover tumour niches and integrate spatial data with ...

Compact Optical Atomic Clock Based on a Two-Photon Transition in Rubidium [PDF]
Extra-laboratory atomic clocks are necessary for a wide array of applications (e.g. satellite-based navigation and communication). Building upon existing vapor cell and laser technologies, we describe an optical atomic clock, designed around a simple and

Casimir forces and quantum friction from Ginzburg radiation in atomic BECs
We theoretically propose an experimentally viable scheme to use an impurity atom in an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate, in order to realize condensed-matter analogs of quantum vacuum effects.

Fundamental limitation of ultrastrong coupling between light and atoms [PDF]
In a recent work of ours [Phys. Rev. Lett. 112, 073601 (2014)], we generalized the Power-Zineau-Woolley gauge to describe the electrodynamics of atoms in an arbitrary confined geometry.

The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.
