Measurement of the 52Fe mass via the precise proton-decay energy of 53Com

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
The proton decay of 53Com(3174.1 keV; 19/2−) was investigated via the fragmentation of a 58Ni primary beam. The proton-decay energy was determined with an improved precision to be 1558(8) keV.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Preparation of a New Sorbent, Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide (CTAB)-Modified Obsidian, for the Separation and Preconcentration of Pb(II) and Cd(II) Ions in Food and Water Samples [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)-modified obsidian (CTAB-OB) was utilized as a new sorbent for the separation and preconcentration of Pb(II) and Cd(II) ions by solid phase extraction in some environmental samples prior to their flame atomic ...

Experimental Studies on Electronic Configuration Mixing for the Even-Parity Levels of Gd I Using Isotope Shifts Recorded in the Visible Region with FTS

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, 2013
Electronic configuration (4f76s26p + 4f75d6s6p + 4f75d26p) mixing studies in the high even-parity energy levels of Gd I spectrum have been carried out on the basis of isotope shift (IS) data recorded in 49 spectral lines partially in the visible ...

THE SPECTROSCOPY OF THE PULSATING CARBON STAR R Lep

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2017
The first results of detailed spectroscopy are presented for carbon Mira R Leporis. This long-period variable is undergoing deep fadings, apparently caused by dust formation around the star.

Concentration factor of metals in zooplankton and their seasonality in Kalpakkam coast, southwest Bay of Bengal

open access: yesEnvironmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology, 2020
Concentrations of 12 different trace elements (Cd, Ce, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, La, Mn, Ni, Pb, U and Zn) in dissolved form and in tissue of mesozooplankton isolated from Klapakkam coast were analyzed, to understand their bioaccumulation potential.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
