ABC transporters and azole susceptibility in laboratory strains of the wheat pathogen Mycosphearella graminicola

open access: yes, 2002
Laboratory strains of Mycosphaerella graminicola with decreased susceptibilities to the azole antifungal agent cyproconazole showed a multidrug resistance phenotype by exhibiting cross-resistance to an unrelated chemical, cycloheximide or rhodamine 6G ...

Cross Kingdom Metabolic Engineering Paradigm Elevating Sustainable Protein Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Confronting the dual crisis of escalating global protein demand and unsustainable agriculture necessitates transformative solutions. Here, we pioneer evolutionary insights from maize nitrogen optimization via asparagine synthetase (ASNS) to rewire metabolism in Pichia pastoris.

Interleukin‐18 signaling promotes activation of hepatic stellate cells in mouse liver fibrosis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Interleukin‐18 signaling promotes activation of hepatic stellate cells in mouse liver fibrosis. Abstract Background and Aims Nucleotide‐binding oligomerization domain‐like receptor‐family pyrin domain‐containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome activation has been shown to result in liver fibrosis.

Y-box binding protein-1 and STAT3 independently regulate ATP-binding cassette transporters in the chemoresistance of gastric cancer cells

open access: yesInternational Journal of Oncology, 2018
Y-box binding protein-1 (YB-1) facilitates cancer chemoresistance through the upregulation of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters associated with multidrug resistance, which is one of the primary obstacles in cancer treatment. Since aberrant Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) signaling is also implicated in ...

The COMATOSE ATP-binding cassette transporter is required for full fertility in arabidopsis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
COMATOSE (CTS) encodes a peroxisomal ATP-binding cassette transporter required not only for beta-oxidation of storage lipids during germination and establishment, but also for biosynthesis of jasmonic acid and conversion of indole butyric acid to indole ...

Hijacking the Host Clock: A Nematode Effector Antagonizes Soybean Circadian Defense and Translation Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soybean employs its circadian clock, governed by GmCCA1, to rhythmically defend against soybean cyst nematodes. The pathogen retaliates by secreting the effector Hg4E02, which hijacks the clock to suppress defense and co‐opt the host's translation machinery for nutrient acquisition.

Nascent HDL formation in hepatocytes and role of ABCA1, ABCG1, and SR-BI

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2012
To study the mechanisms of hepatic HDL formation, we investigated the roles of ABCA1, ABCG1, and SR-BI in nascent HDL formation in primary hepatocytes isolated from mice deficient in ABCA1, ABCG1, or SR-BI and from wild-type (WT) mice.

Thermodynamics and kinetics of P-glycoprotein-substrate interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
P-glycoprotein (Pgp, ABCB1) is a transmembrane protein, which extrudes a large number of structurally diverse compounds out of the cell membrane at the expense of ATP hydrolysis.

Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

Isolation of an ABA Transporter-Like 1 Gene from Arachis hypogaea That Affects ABA Import and Reduces ABA Sensitivity in Arabidopsis

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Abscisic acid (ABA) transporters are essential for the transport of ABA from its sites of synthesis to its multiple sites of action within plants and are key players in plant stress responses. Despite their importance, there is limited information on ABA
