Atividade biológica em solo salino sódico saturado por água sob cultivo de Atriplex nummularia Biological activity in saline sodic soil saturated by water under cultivation of Atriplex nummularia

open access: yesRevista Ciência Agronômica, 2011
A salinidade constitui-se um sério fator limitante à agricultura, pois a maioria das culturas agrícolas é sensível à salinidade, sendo muito afetadas pelos efeitos nocivos dos sais.

Exploring the anthelmintic properties of Australian native shrubs with respect to their potential role in livestock grazing systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We measured in vitro anthelmintic activity in extracts from 85 species of Australian native shrub, with a view to identifying species able to provide a degree of worm control in grazing systems.

On the Limits of Alpine Plants: A Systematic Review of the Factors Behind Species' Elevational Range Limits

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
This systematic review of 107 studies on the factors behind the elevational range limits of alpine vascular plants shows a persistent emphasis on upper limits and abiotic factors, especially temperature, while work at lower limits is more evenly distributed across water availability, plant–plant interactions, and selection/local adaptation.

Salinity tolerance of halophyte Atriplex nummularia L. grown under increasing NaCl levels Tolerância à salinidade da halófita Atriplex nummularia L. cultivada em níveis crescentes de NaCl

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Engenharia Agrícola e Ambiental, 2006
The current study reports effects of salt stress on growth, K+ nutrition and organic composition of Atriplex nummularia. The upper limit of the NaCl gradient imposed on the plants was close to seawater salinity (600 mM).

Lack of capture‐induced mortality of neonates associated with variation in handling protocols

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, Volume 50, Issue 1, March 2026.
We found that handling metrics (e.g., handling time, number of collectors, and age at capture) had limited or no influence on the survival of neonatal mule deer, desert bighorn sheep, and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep within the first few days of life. Furthermore, we found that handled mule deer and Rocky Mountain bighorn neonates were recruited at a ...

28 years of vegetation change (1978 – 2006) in a calcareous coastal dune system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Changes in vegetation structure and composition over a 28 year period (1978–2006) following removal of human-induced disturbances, were examined in a calcareous coastal dune system in Point Nepean National Park (380 19’S, 1440 41’E) in south-eastern ...

Jasmonates enhance plants tolerance grown in Cd‐contaminated environments: A comprehensive overview

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 188, Issue 2, Page 390-405, March 2026.
Jasmonates (JAs) enhance plant tolerance to cadmium (Cd) stress by activating antioxidant defences but may reduce Cd uptake, limiting their effectiveness for phytoremediation. This review compiles studies that evaluated the effects of JA application on plants grown in Cd‐contaminated environments. Abstract Cadmium (Cd) is a toxic heavy metal and one of

Endophyte microbiome diversity in micropropagated Atriplex canescens and Atriplex torreyi var griffithsii. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Microbial diversity associated with micropropagated Atriplex species was assessed using microscopy, isolate culturing, and sequencing. Light, electron, and confocal microscopy revealed microbial cells in aseptically regenerated leaves and roots.
