Machine Learning in Chaos-Based Encryption: Theory, Implementations, and Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Chaos-based encryption is a promising approach to secure communication due to its complexity and unpredictability. However, various challenges lie in the design and implementation of efficient, low-power, attack-resistant chaos-based encryption schemes ...

A Methodology of Security Pattern Classification and of Attack-Defense Tree Generation

open access: yesProceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Information Systems Security and Privacy, 2017
Security at the design stage of the software life cycle can be performed by means of security patterns, which are viable and reusable solutions to regular security problems. Their generic nature and growing number make their choice difficult though, even for experts in system design.

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...

A Two‐Stage Questionnaire and Actigraphy Screening for iRBD in a Multicenter Retrospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Isolated rapid‐eye‐movement sleep behavior disorder is a prodromal marker of synucleinopathies. However, most cases remain undiagnosed due to the insufficient predictive value of questionnaires and limited access to confirmatory video‐polysomnography. We assessed a two‐stage screening strategy combining a brief questionnaire on rapid‐

Immunoinflammatory Mechanisms and Biocompatibility of Bioactive Dental Biomaterials: From Fundamental Insights to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.

Efficient Attack-Defense Tree Analysis using Pareto Attribute Domains [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE 32nd Computer Security Foundations Symposium (CSF), 2019
The cheapest attacks are often time-consuming, and those requiring high level of technical skills might occur rarely but result in disastrous consequences. Therefore, analysis focusing on a single parameter at a time, e.g., only cost or time, is insufficient for the successful selection of the appropriate measures increasing system^{\prime}s security ...

Hijacking the Host Clock: A Nematode Effector Antagonizes Soybean Circadian Defense and Translation Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Soybean employs its circadian clock, governed by GmCCA1, to rhythmically defend against soybean cyst nematodes. The pathogen retaliates by secreting the effector Hg4E02, which hijacks the clock to suppress defense and co‐opt the host's translation machinery for nutrient acquisition.

Effective Defense of Aleppo Pine Against the Giant Scale Marchalina hellenica Through Ecophysiological and Metabolic Changes

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis) is widely distributed in the Mediterranean region and in other areas of the world, where it has been introduced due to its adaptive capacity to xerothermic conditions. The giant pine scale Marchalina hellenica often infests

Natural Variation of NAR5 Determines Nitrogenase Activity and the Yield in Soybean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified NAR5, a gene encoding a subtilisin‐like protease, that regulates nitrogenase activity in soybean nodules. Overexpressing NAR5 delayed nodule senescence, enhancing nitrogenase activity, yield, and low‐nitrogen tolerance. The elite haplotype NAR5HapI‐1 linked to superior nitrogenase activity and greater seed weight has been ...

Network Security Analysis on Attack-defense Behavior Tree

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2017
:Modern network is subjected to the risk of combined attack. Therefore,a security situation analysis model based on attack and defense behavior is necessary to be build for analyzing the threat of each independent and combined attack behaviors.Aiming at ...
