U-Net Inspired Transformer Architecture for Multivariate Time Series Synthesis

open access: yesSensors
This study introduces a Multiscale Dual-Attention U-Net (TS-MSDA U-Net) model for long-term time series synthesis. By integrating multiscale temporal feature extraction and dual-attention mechanisms into the U-Net backbone, the model captures complex ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Improved U-Net for Precise Gauge Dial Segmentation in Substation Inspection Systems: A Study on Enhancing Accuracy and Robustness

open access: yesInformation
In practical applications, the clarity of analog dial images is often compromised due to factors such as lighting conditions, leading to low precision and poor segmentation of dial scales and pointers.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Multiscale implicit frequency selective network for single-image dehazing

open access: yesETRI Journal
Image dehazing is aimed to reconstruct a clear latent image from a degraded image affected by haze. Although vision transformers have achieved impressive success in various computer vision tasks, the limitations in scale and quality of available datasets

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Automated Segmentation of Acute Ischemic Stroke Using Attention U-net with Patch Mechanism

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering
This paper addresses ischemic stroke detection using deep learning techniques to interpret medical images like MRI and CT scans, with a focus on segmentation. Ischemic stroke occurs when a blockage in brain arteries disrupts blood flow, impairing brain

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.
