From Nominalisation to Passive in Old Tibetan: Reconstructing Grammatical Meaning in an Extinct Language1

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, EarlyView.
Abstract Based on an analysis of the Old Literary Tibetan corpus—a corpus of the oldest documented Tibetic language—the present study provides evidence that literary Tibetan v3 verb stems (commonly termed ‘future’) initially encoded passive voice. New arguments put forward in this article range from Trans‐Himalayan nominal morphology to early Tibetan ...

Investigating transthyretin variants H88R and I107V in amyloid priming: From destabilization to complete dissociation

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Investigated mutations in transthyretin (TTR) disrupt the F87‐centered hydrophobic core that stabilizes its tetrameric structure. The mild I107V mutation weakens inter‐chain packing, while H88R fully abolishes tetramer formation, yielding a monomeric, aggregation‐prone form. Structural, biophysical, and computational analyses reveal that both mutations

The Underscreening of Cardiac Amyloidosis in Patients With Pacemakers—A Single Centre Retrospective Audit

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cardiac amyloidosis is commonly associated with cardiac conduction disease. We sought to determine the prevalence of advanced conduction disease requiring a pacemaker in patients with known cardiac amyloidosis to evaluate current screening practices among patients receiving pacemakers.

Utilization and Prognosis of Cardiac Device Implantation in AL Versus ATTR Amyloidosis

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cardiac amyloidosis can cause congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and heart blocks, which frequently require cardiac device implantation (CDI). However, the differences between light chain (AL) amyloidosis and transthyretin (ATTR) amyloidosis CDI requirements are unknown. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted using the

Genome‐Wide Association Study Elucidates the Genetic Architecture of Manganese Tolerance in Brassica napus

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Brassica napus (canola) is a significant contributor to the world's oil production and is cultivated across continents, yet acidic soils with aluminium (Al3+) and manganese (Mn2+) toxicities limit its production. The genetic determinants underlying natural variation for acidic soil tolerance in canola are unknown and need to be determined ...

Visualizing Random Forest with Self-Organising Map

open access: yes, 2014
Random Forest (RF) is a powerful ensemble method for classification and regression tasks. It consists of decision trees set. Although, a single tree is well interpretable for human, the ensemble of trees is a black-box model.

Investigating How Learners' Attitudes Shape AI‐Supported Argumentative Writing Processes and Outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Computer Assisted Learning, Volume 42, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Artificial intelligence (AI), in particular, generative AI, plays an increasingly critical role in education. Studies have shown that learners' positive perception of generative AI‐assisted writing tools can benefit them in their writing processes and outcomes.
