Characterisation of the bacterial biosensor GMG in E-coli BL21 (DE3)
In this work, a gold biosensor has been constructed and characterised in Escherichia coli (E. coli). Though gold biosensors have been previously reported, a NOT gate gold biosensing genetic circuit was constructed using an orthogonal inverter system as ...

Study on the UV FEL single-shot damage threshold of an Au thin film
The damage threshold of an Au-coated flat mirror, one of the reflective optics installed on the FEL-2 beamline of the Dalian Coherent Light Source, China, upon far-UV free-electron laser irradiation is evaluated.

Hydrogen Evolution Reaction on AuNi Surface Alloy Formed on Single Crystal Au Electrodes
The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) activity of the AuNi surface alloys prepared on the single crystal Au electrodes in sulfuric acid was investigated. The HER activity was enhanced by the increased number of low‐coordination Au sites of AuNi resulting from Ni dealloying.

Structural Properties of Nanometer‐Sized Gold Nanoparticles on a Silicon Substrate
This article discusses how the atomic structure of nanometer‐sized gold particles deposited on a silicon surface is determined by using high‐energy X‐ray diffraction in combination with atomic‐pair‐distribution function and reverse Monte Carlo methods.

Adsorbate‐Induced Modifications in the Optical Response of the Si(553)–Au Surface
Reflectance anisotropy spectroscopy (RAS) and infrared ellipsometry are particularly suited to identify the spectral features related to atomic‐scale structural motifs at surfaces or interfaces. Here, adsorbates on Au–Si(553) are studied by experiment and atomistic calculations. The adsorption occurs at the step edge and thereafter on the terrace.

Epitaxial lithium niobate thin films are realized through a nanocomposite LiNbO3–Au seed layer without twin defects. Detailed microstructural characterization and optical properties are explored. An acoustic resonator is developed to demonstrate the potential for device usage of the seed‐layer‐enabled epitaxial thin films as compared with the standard ...

The temperature coefficients of semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotube‐Au (sSWCNT‐Au) films are adjusted by the control of Au thickness. The scanning noise microscopy study shows that the hybrid structure has reduced resistivity and noise source density compared with a pristine Au thin film.
