Augmented dodgeball

Proceedings of the 6th Augmented Human International Conference, 2015
Ubiquitous computing offers enhanced interactive, human-centric experiences including sporting and fitness-based applications. To enhance this experience further, we consider augmenting dodgeball by adding digital elements to a traditional ball game. To achieve this, an understanding of the game mechanics with participating movable bodies, is required.

Designing for Augmented Humans and Intelligence

2019 IEEE 23rd International Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work in Design (CSCWD), 2019
Over the last years, significant and highly visible results have been achieved using Artifical Intelligence (AI). Based on those, AI is the reigning world champion in games such as checkers, chess, Jeopardy, Go or Quake 3. However, there are still several disciplines in which humans remain leading, mainly because AI lacks qualities like experience ...

Design of a Non-intrusive Augmented Trumpet

2015
This paper describes the design and first prototype implementation of an innovative concept of augmented instruments. The main idea is given by the opportunity offered by cameras and image recognition algorithms, to avoid the use of intrusive and often wired sensors.

Augmenting design with sustainability

2003
Abstract The concept of sustainability changes the domain of optimal performance both for industry and services, adding environmental, social, and cultural dimensions and long-term effects to design and decision-making. Existing tools for design and environmental and social-cultural assessments can be integrated into a sustainability assessment ...

3D Design for Augmented Reality

2014
How do you define a good concept when designing augmented reality apps for mobiles? This paper focuses on design processes technically, graphically and conceptually in the development of 3D content for Augmented Reality on mobile devices. Based on experiences in the development and implementation of a course in 3D design for Augmented Reality at NITH ...

Augmented workspace: designing an AR testbed

Proceedings IEEE and ACM International Symposium on Augmented Reality (ISAR 2000), 2002
We have implemented a tabletop setup to explore augmented reality (AR) visualization. We call this setup an "augmented workspace". The user sits at the table and performs a manual task, guided by computer graphics overlaid on to his view. The setup serves as a testbed for developing the technology and for studying visual perception issues.
