Monitoring of Metabolic Disorders Through Electro‐Sensing of Riboflavin by Novel Super‐Conductive Silver Ink Modified Paper

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 1, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Riboflavin (RIB), or vitamin B2, plays a key role in cellular protection against oxidative stress, and its deficiency can cause severe physiological complications, including metabolic disorders, photosensitivity, anaemia, growth delay and gastrointestinal problems.

Plasmonic‐Quantum and Emitter's Finite‐Size Effects in Plasmon‐Emitter Coupling: A QHT–DFT Hybrid Approach

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 6, 27 March 2026.
Plasmon‐emitter interactions in a dimer are studied using a hybrid approach: density functional theory captures the molecular transition density of the p‐nitroaniline molecule, whereas quantum hydrodynamic theory models the plasmonic system. Comparison with a point dipole shows significant deviations in emission rates and spectral positions for gaps ...

Antimicrobial and Cytotoxic Activities of Biogenic Nanoparticles Produced by Cyanobacteria

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
The article reviews the green synthesis of biogenic nanoparticles produced by cyanobacteria, highlighting their antimicrobial and cytotoxic properties. These nanoparticles, formed intra‐ or extracellularly, show activity against Gram‐positive and Gram‐negative bacteria as well as fungi and can induce apoptosis in tumor cells.

Catalytic Amyloids: Turning Fibrils Into Biocatalysts

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 10, 9 March 2026.
Amyloids, traditionally associated with diseases, have emerged as versatile catalytic scaffolds. From natural amyloid sequences to bioinspired and de novo designs, we highlight strategies to construct catalytic active sites and anchor enzymes onto fibrils, creating versatile nanomaterials with tunable activities. ABSTRACT Amyloids have been regarded as

Silent Partners in the Mill: Unveiling the Role of Additives in Mechanochemical Synthesis

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 9, 2 March 2026.
Mechanochemistry offers a sustainable, solvent‐free alternative to traditional synthesis, often enhanced by additives in a process known as additive‐assisted grinding. This review discusses how various additives, including liquids, ionic solids, and advanced materials like ionic liquids and piezoelectric compounds, improve reaction efficiency ...

Wavelength‐Dependent Differential Amplification of Raman Scattering by Chiral Gold Nanorods for Multiplexed Encoding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 20, 9 March 2026.
The SERS spectra of reporter molecules adsorbed on chiral gold nanorods depends on the handedness of circularly polarized light (CPL‐SERS). The bisignate plasmonic CD spectra of chiral nanorods provides wavelength‐dependent CPL‐SERS. Selective discrimination of chiral nanorod handedness and different Raman reporters allow highly sensitive codification ...
