Tree cover and geographic origin of tree species drive bird functional groups in urban environments
Urban trees provide habitat and resources for wild species in cities and support biodiversity provision of ecosystem services, among which insect control is particularly relevant. Predators of insects are promoted by the presence of trees and, in turn, may enhance biosecurity of the trees.

Retrospective analysis of chelonian eggs collected from gravid females admitted to a North Carolina wildlife clinic (2010–2023). A total of 2,453 eggs were harvested from live, euthanized, and deceased patients and incubated under standardized conditions, resulting in 38.9% hatching success.

Challenging the narrative about howler monkeys' high resilience to anthropogenic changes, our multiscale analysis reveals the costs of habitat disturbance to their movement ecology. We identify thermal limitations, reduced travel efficiency, and significant spatial saturation.
