Effect of Magnetic Islands on Neoclassical Heat Diffusivity in a Global Tokamak Simulation

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Resonant magnetic perturbations (RMPs) alter magnetic field topology via island formation and can modify core transport in toroidal fusion devices. Using the global gyrokinetic particle‐in‐cell code XGC‐S, originally developed for stellarator geometries, we quantify how island topology affects neoclassical heat transport in a circular tokamak ...

OMIP‐120: A 22‐Marker Spectral Flow Cytometry Panel for the Characterization of Major Immune Populations in Murine Bone Marrow and Osteosarcoma Tissue

open access: yesCytometry Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumors that develop in the bone exhibit poor responses to most treatment options, including advanced immunotherapies. Despite its immune‐rich composition, the bone marrow microenvironment often fails to suppress tumor progression and instead promotes tumor growth and immune evasion, although the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood ...

Measurement and Prediction of Unmixing‐Dependent Spreading due to Collinearity in Spectral Flow Cytometry

open access: yesCytometry Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advances in spectral cytometry instrumentation and fluorescent reagents have led to the possibility of ultra‐high‐parameter panels exceeding 50 colors. However, panel size is limited in practice by unmixing‐dependent spreading (UDS), a phenomenon which leads to a progressive deterioration of unmixed signal‐to‐noise ratios in panels that ...

Expression of mutant TIE2 p.L914F during mouse development causes embryonic lethality and defects in vascular remodeling

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Sporadic venous malformation (VM) is associated with the hyperactivating p.L914F mutation in TIE2, a receptor tyrosine kinase essential for vascular development. This mutation is not found in hereditary VM, suggesting incompatibility with life when expressed during early vascular development.

Forecasting heart failure: Seasonal alignment of heart failure outcomes in New York

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 819-831, April 2025.
Abstract Background Seasonal variations have been observed in heart failure (HF) hospitalization. Numerous explanatory mechanisms have been proposed, but no prior studies have examined potential contributors directly. Our objective was to identify specific factors that could contribute to seasonal variability using a large longitudinal dataset of HF ...

Evolution of the European Medicines Agency clinical guidelines for epilepsy drug development between 2010 and 2025: A comparative analysis by the ILAE Task Force on Regulatory Affairs

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective The latest European Medicines Agency (EMA) guideline on the clinical investigation of medicines to treat epileptic disorders was adopted by the EMA Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use in 2025. We compared this guideline with the previous version (2010), highlighting areas where significant revisions were introduced ...
