Fracture Studies of Austempered Ductile Iron
2021Austempered ductile iron (ADI) represents wide segments of engineering applications. In the present investigation, Single edge notch bending (SENB) samples austempered at 300 °C for 120 minutes duration were subjected to three-point bending test to evaluate the plane strain fracture toughness (KIC) of ADI. The presence of crack in mechanical components

Machinability of alloyed austempered ductile iron
International Journal of Machine Tools and Manufacture, 1995Austempered ductile iron (ADI) has found enormous applications in recent years due to its high strength and hardness, coupled with substantial ductility and toughness. The high strength and hardness of ADI have caused many researchers and engineers to doubt the machinability of this material.

Engineering Austempered Ductile Iron Castings
2022Abstract Unlike conventional quench and temper heat treatment, austempering is an iron and steel heat-treatment process that enhances mechanical properties through the isothermal transformation of austenite with a minimum amount of quenching stresses. This chapter begins with a discussion of austemperability requirements.

Nondestructive Characterization of Austempered Ductile Irons
1989Recently developed austempered ductile irons have good mechanical properties. Comparing the austempered ductile irons with the normal ductile irons the austempered ductile irons have about two times or higher tensile strength than the normal ductile irons at the same level of elongation as shown in Fig.l [1].

Corrosion fatigue of austempered ductile iron
Journal of Materials Science, 2003Corrosion fatigue (CF) behavior has been investigated for an austempered ductile iron (ADI) by conducting systematic fatigue tests at 20 Hz, including both high-cycle fatigue (HCF, S-N curves) and fatigue crack growth (FCG, da/dN-ΔK curves), in air, lubrication oil and several aqueous environments.
