Influence of Austempering Temperatures on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Austempered Ductile Cast Iron [PDF]

open access: yesMetals, 2021
The influence of the austempering temperatures on the microstructure and mechanical properties of austempered ductile cast iron (ADI) was investigated. ADI is nodular graphite cast iron, which owing to higher strength and elongation, exceeds mechanical ...

INFLUENCE OF AUSTEMPERING TIME AND AUSTEMPERING TEMPERATURE IN MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES IN AUSTEMPERED DUCTILE IRON

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research -GRANTHAALAYAH, 2020
Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) has excellent mechanical properties related to its microstructure ausferrite, and with the cycle of austempering heat treatment, many mechanical properties can be obtained from the same alloy, simply changing the time and temperature.

Influence of Austempering Temperature on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of High‐Silicon Carbide‐Free Bainitic Steel

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 94, Issue 9, September 2023., 2023
In this article, Franceschi et al. study a newly developed medium carbon high silicon carbide free baintic steel. The effect of different is isothermal transformation temperature on the bainitic microstructure is investigated in terms of phase constituents, morphology and mechanical properties. It is observed that the isothermal treatments below 300 °C

Ab Initio Study of Alloying Impact on the Stability of Cementite in Transformation‐Induced Plasticity‐Assisted Advanced Steels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 24, Issue 11, November 2022., 2022
Ensuring the transformation‐induced plasticity (TRIP) effect in advanced high‐strength steels (AHSS) requires that the formation of cementite is suppressed by the addition of alloying elements such as Si. Theoretical simulations reveal the impact of alloying elements on the elastic and chemical stability of cementite, taking into account the role of ...

Nanobainite Generated in Low‐ and Medium‐Carbon Steels via an Economical Alloying Strategy

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 93, Issue 6, June 2022., 2022
A low‐cost strategy for generating low‐ and medium‐C steel alloys relying on Al additions to accelerate the transformation is investigated. Increasing Al in isothermally and continuously cooled conditions refines the lamellar thickness, lowers both the incubation and transformation times but causes a slight drop in tensile properties.

Tooth Root Bending Fatigue Performance of Shot Peening TM210A Steel Spur Gear

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Tooth root bending fatigue performance is the primary consideration in gear design. To investigate the difference between the tooth root fatigue performances of shot peened and base material, TM210A steel gears and double‐tooth pulsating bending fatigue experiment with a stress ratio of 0.05 was carried out on the experimental gears by the group method

Effect of austempering temperature and manganese content on the impact energy of austempered ductile iron [PDF]

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2021
Austempered ductile iron (ADI) is a revolutionary material that has the ability to replace some of the commonly used steel forgings. ADI is being used in wide range of products because of the availability of this material with relatively lesser cost and its higher strength to weight ratio.
