Tribological Characteristics of GCI‐EN31 Steel Surface Contact with Dry Sliding Condition
Grey cast iron (GCI) and steel contact surface application is an inevitable component and provides good wear resistance in several applications, not only in automobiles. Grey cast iron consists of a predominantly pearlitic/ferrite matrix or both with graphite flakes.

With a long history of more than 600 years of development, the Achang Tosa knives have always been handmade and made in strict accordance with tradition and absorbing the essence of foreign cultures. It is not only a tool or a gift, but also a “knife culture” and a local “folk culture” with local ethnic characteristics in Yunnan.

A modified quenching and deformation dilatometer (TA instruments DIL 805A/D/T) is now in operation at the Heinz Maier‐Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ, Germany) neutron center. It is customized for running neutron scattering measurements during the temperature/deformation treatment of the sample, in particular neutron diffraction (phase, texture, and lattice ...

Under comparable boriding conditions, the layer thickness generated on the unalloyed cast iron surface were approximately twice as thick as on the nickel cladded surface. For the unalloyed substrate, the well‐known iron borides were determined. The boride layer formed on the alloyed surface contained iron borides with dissolved nickel portions as well ...

Dry sliding wear of Ni alloyed austempered ductile iron [PDF]
Measurements of dry sliding wear are presented for ductile irons with composition Fe-3.56C-2.67Si-0.25Mo-0.5Cu and Ni contents of 0.8 and 1.5 in wt.% with applied loads of 50, 100 and 150 N for austempering temperatures of 270, 320, and 370 °C after ...

Micromechanical simulation of fatigue in nodular cast iron under stress‐controlled loading
Abstract Nodular cast iron contains about 10 vol% of graphite particles, which debond easily and thus act as nucleation sites of voids. When an elastic–plastic porous material is subjected to cyclic loading, voids grow with each load cycle due to so‐called void ratchetting until the micro‐ligaments between the graphite particles begin to neck.

Evaluation of Volume Fraction of Austenite in Austempering Process of Austempered Ductile Iron [PDF]
In the present work, an evaluation of the volume fraction of austenite in austempered ductile iron (ADI) is presented by means of three different methods. Experimental tests were conducted on ADI samples after different austempering conditions and contained different volume fractions of the phase components in the metallic matrix (ferrite plates ...

Effect of austempering temperature on the microstructure evolution of ultrafine bainite steel
The isothermal transformation kinetics of experimental steel was studied by the thermal expansion method. Uhrafine bainite was obtained by austempering at low temperature. The microstructure was quantificationally analyzed by scanning electron microscopy,
