Post‐Tuberculosis Adrenal Crisis in a Young Boy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT An adrenal crisis should be considered in children with a history of tuberculosis who present with shock, hypoglycemia, and hyperpigmentation. Even years after successful treatment, TB can cause irreversible adrenal damage leading to primary adrenal insufficiency. Early recognition and prompt glucocorticoid replacement are lifesaving.

CXCL10 Promotes Spinal Macrophage Recruitment via the JAK/STAT3 Pathway to Induce Pain in Experimental Autoimmune Prostatitis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, Volume 58, Issue 4, April 2025.
The CXCL10/CXCR3 axis was involved in spinal macrophage infiltration through activating the JAK/STAT3 pathway. The prostate NGF/TrKA axis was involved in the neuroinflammation and pain in chronic prostatitis, and inhibition of NGF could attenuate pain response in chronic prostatitis, which provided novel therapeutic targets for pain treatment in ...

Longitudinal assessment of thyroid function in dogs with hypoadrenocorticism: Clinical outcomes and prevalence of autoantibodies

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 39, Issue 1, January/February 2025.
Abstract Background Knowledge about primary hypoadrenocorticism coexisting with immune‐mediated thyroiditis (Schmidt's syndrome) in dogs is limited. Objective To evaluate thyroid function in dogs with naturally occurring hypoadrenocorticism before and during treatment. Animals Sixty‐six client‐owned dogs.

Clinical findings, treatment, and outcomes in cats with naturally occurring hypoadrenocorticism: 41 cases

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 39, Issue 1, January/February 2025.
Abstract Background Hypoadrenocorticism in cats is uncommonly reported. Most reports consist of cats with hyponatremia, hyperkalemia, or both. Hypothesis/Objectives To describe clinical findings, treatment response, and outcome in cats diagnosed with hypoadrenocorticism, including cats with abnormal and normal serum sodium and potassium concentrations.

Repurposing of rituximab biosimilars to treat B cell mediated autoimmune diseases

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 38, Issue 5, 15 March 2024.
B cell functions include: (A) acting as antigen‐presenting cells (APCs) through B‐cell antigen receptors (BCRs), (B) interacting with T cells via the major histocompatibility complex class II (MHC II) and T‐cell receptors (TCRs), (C) producing autoantibodies, and (D) producing inflammatory cytokines.

GDF15 in Patients with Autoimmune Primary Adrenal Insufficiency

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences
Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15) is a stress-response protein that conveys cellular distress signals to the brain and activates neural pathways leading to weight loss. GDF15 levels are increased in glucocorticoid deficiency; however, multiple factors may influence its levels in patients with primary adrenal insufficiency (PAI). The objective of
