“Therapies Through Gut:” Targeted Drug Delivery for Non‐Gastrointestinal Diseases by Oral Administration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the mechanism of targeted delivery of nanoparticles including 1) paracellular, 2) endolysosomal escape, 3) receptor mediated endocytosis, and 4) M cell mediated transport for non‐GI diseases by oral administration such as atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes, and brain diseases. Abstract Oral drug delivery is a promising approach

HEp-2 Cell Classification via Fusing Texture and Shape Information [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Indirect Immunofluorescence (IIF) HEp-2 cell image is an effective evidence for diagnosis of autoimmune diseases. Recently computer-aided diagnosis of autoimmune diseases by IIF HEp-2 cell classification has attracted great attention. However the HEp-2 cell classification task is quite challenging due to large intra-class variation and small between ...

Inorganic Nanomaterials Meet the Immune System: An Intricate Balance

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Metal nanomaterials influence the immune responses, such as cytokine production and T‐cell activity. Unintended immune modulation can have significant consequences while its fine‐tuning may transform the oncology care. Within this review, a critical analysis is offered regarding the nano/immune‐interaction and suggests the future research directions to

Development of Itaconate Polymers Microparticles for Intracellular Regulation of Pro‐Inflammatory Macrophage Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops itaconate‐based polymer microparticles (IA‐MPs) for macrophage‐targeted intracellular delivery, overcoming the limitations of traditional itaconate administration. IA‐MPs achieve controlled release through phagocytosis, reducing pro‐inflammatory cytokine expression and reprogramming macrophage metabolism toward glycolysis.

AKRs confer oligodendrocytes resistance to differentiation-stimulated ferroptosis

open access: yesRedox Biology
Ferroptosis is a recently characterized form of cell death that has gained attention for its roles in both pathological and physiological contexts. The existence of multiple anti-ferroptotic pathways in both neoplastic and healthy cells, along with the ...
