Hypoxic Preconditioning Enhances Survival and Proangiogenic Capacity of Human First Trimester Chorionic Villus-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Fetal Tissue Engineering. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Prenatal stem cell-based regenerative therapies have progressed substantially and have been demonstrated as effective treatment options for fetal diseases that were previously deemed untreatable. Due to immunoregulatory properties, self-renewal capacity,

Distance Assisted Recursive Testing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In many applications, a large number of features are collected with the goal to identify a few important ones. Sometimes, these features lie in a metric space with a known distance matrix, which partially reflects their co-importance pattern. Proper use of the distance matrix will boost the power of identifying important features.

Genetically engineered mesenchymal stem cells as a proposed therapeutic for Huntington's disease. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
There is much interest in the use of mesenchymal stem cells/marrow stromal cells (MSC) to treat neurodegenerative disorders, in particular those that are fatal and difficult to treat, such as Huntington's disease.

Ultra‐Fine 3D Bioprinting of Dynamic Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel for in Vitro Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D bioprinting merges tissue engineering and additive manufacturing to create biological structures. A bioink is developed by modifying hyaluronic acid, a natural extracellular matrix polymer, with cysteine. Potassium iodide is later added to tune gelation kinetics, enabling fine printing with a 32G needle.

Accurate Delivery of Mesenchymal Stem Cell Spheroids With Platelet‐Rich Fibrin Shield: Enhancing Survival and Repair Functions of Sp‐MSCs in Diabetic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Autologous plasma‐derived platelet‐rich fibrin (PRF) is prepared as a protective shield for mesenchymal stem cell spheroids (Sp‐MSCs). PRF forms a fibrin shield to protect Sp‐MSCs from the oxidative stress environment. The nutrients in PRF, particularly the α‐granules, can enhance the repair function of Sp‐MSCs.

Amniotic fluid stem cells for minimally invasive prenatal cell therapy

open access: yesGynecology and Minimally Invasive Therapy, 2014
Amniotic fluid stem cells can be expanded without feeder layers and can differentiate into mesenchymal and hematopoietic lineages. Long-term engraftment has been difficult to achieve after prenatal stem cell transplantation, mainly because of allogeneic ...
