A Luminescent PEI/Cy5‐Citrate‐Functionalized Carbonated Apatite Nanoplatform for In Vitro Gene Delivery and In Vivo Traceability

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A luminescent PEI/Cy5‐citrate‐functionalized carbonated apatite nanoplatform combines biocompatibility, plasmid delivery, and Cy5‐based traceability. The system enables effective in vitro gene delivery while preserving cell viability and allows real‐time in vivo fluorescence tracking of the nanocarrier.

Toward an automated multimodal breast ultrasound imaging system

open access: yes, 2022
Breast cancer affects millions of women worldwide each year, and is responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths. Mammography, the standard screening method for these cancers, underperforms for women with dense breast tissue, who account for half of ...

Engineering metal‐organic framework‐based smart porous nanoplatforms for targeted therapy and theranostic applications

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
MOFs offer high porosity and tunability for biomedical applications, especially in cancer therapy via ROS generation and targeted delivery. Though toxicity, stability, and scalability remain key clinical challenges. Drug loading in MOFs exceeds 60%–70% with controlled release behavior.

Four‐dimensional immuno‐mechanobiomaterials: Dynamic material cues that program host response to prevent fibrosis and enable regeneration

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Dynamic immuno‐mechanobiomaterials with time‐programmed mechanical adaptation orchestrate host responses through precise mechanotransduction and immune‐stromal regulation. These adaptive biomaterials minimize mechanical mismatch, attenuate the forign dy response and fibrosis, promote angiogenesis and controlled extracellular matrix remodeling, and ...

MiniExtractor-PHyMiPS: A Parameter-Efficient Pipeline With Compact Feature Extractor, MI, and PCA for Breast Cancer Detection

open access: yesIEEE Access
Breast ultrasound (BUS) is an essential imaging technique for the early detection of breast cancer, particularly in women with dense breast tissue. However, the high interclass similarity and variability in tumor morphology pose significant challenges ...

Diagnostic value of plasma TFF3‐centered combined biomarker panel in early gastrointestinal cancer

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
In this study, a retrospective cohort was established, including gastrointestinal cancer, non‐GI cancer, and healthy controls. TFF3, CEA, and gastric function indicators were detected. TFF3 showed significantly better diagnostic performance compared with conventional gastrointestinal indicators in gastric cancer, and compared with CEA in ...

Towards quantitative 3D broadband ultrasound characterisation of breast lesions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This thesis describes the development and scientific validation of a real-time quantitative 3D flat-bed ultrasound scanner. Novel short-time Fourier transform software facilitated broadband ultrasound attenuation maps of a breast phantom, enabling ...

Automated breast ultrasound in breast cancer screening of mammographically dense breasts: added values

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine
Background Full-field digital mammography (FFDM) is the primary screening method for breast cancer, yet the number of cancers that can be missed with mammography is considerable, notably in female with dense breast.

AML‐Net: Attention‐based multi‐scale lightweight model for brain tumour segmentation in internet of medical things

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Brain tumour segmentation employing MRI images is important for disease diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment planning. Till now, many encoder‐decoder architectures have been developed for this purpose, with U‐Net being the most extensively utilised. However, these architectures require a lot of parameters to train and have a semantic gap. Some
