Towards Full Automated Drive in Urban Environments: A Demonstration in GoMentum Station, California

open access: yes, 2017
Each year, millions of motor vehicle traffic accidents all over the world cause a large number of fatalities, injuries and significant material loss. Automated Driving (AD) has potential to drastically reduce such accidents. In this work, we focus on the

Physics of automated-driving vehicular traffic

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2023
We have found that a variety of phase transitions occurring between three traffic phases (free flow (F), synchronized flow (S), and wide moving jam (J)) determine the spatiotemporal dynamics of traffic consisting of 100% automated-driving vehicles moving on a two-lane road with an on-ramp bottleneck.

Introducing VAMPIRE – Using Kinaesthetic Feedback in Virtual Reality for Automated Driving Experiments

open access: yesUI, 2022
Investigating trust, acceptance, and attitudes towards automated driving is often investigated in simulator experiments. Therefore, behavioral validity is a crucial aspect of automated driving studies.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Classification of Automated Lane-Change Styles by Modeling and Analyzing Truck Driver Behavior: A Driving Simulator Study

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems, 2022
Lane change is a highly demanding driving task. A number of traffic accidents are induced by erroneous maneuvers. An automated lane-change system has the potential to reduce the driver workload and improve driving safety.

Effects of non-driving related tasks on mental workload and take-over times during conditional automated driving

open access: yes, 2021
Background Automated driving will be of high value in the future. While in partial-automated driving the driver must always monitor the traffic situation, a paradigm shift is taking place in the case of conditional automated driving (Level 3 according to

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Influence of automated driving on driver’s own localization: a driving simulator study [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles, 2019
Purpose - Level 3 automated driving, which has been defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers, may cause driver drowsiness or lack of situation awareness, which can make it difficult for the driver to recognize where he/she is.
